President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
sucking orange cock to pwn da libs!
The stupids can't understand that the libtards they hate so much have their best interests in mind far more than the grifter they grovel to.
Yeah, Walmart having to raise prices solely because of 1 policy is probably not great for non college grads, rurals and pretty large chunks of the Trump base.
What would be the end result and advantages ?
people would still end up paying and government still needs money one way or the other shrug .
It would make declaring your income optional. None of the government's business anyway how much money I make.
Plus it taxes consumption, not income which makes more sense to me.
Would obviate any and all tax loopholes.
That's a partial list of advantages.

Dude there's plenty of ammo to attack trump on **** ups than Walmart's (mostly advertised) price increases. Walmart isn't one of them.
I wouldn't blame Biden for the Walmart's redic price increases due to the stim that outpaced supply because it was mostly the right move.
Walmart is doing two things.
1) They are anchoring new prices. They have the leverage to create the new normal in price setting and are capitalizing off of the tariff since no one knows wtf it actually entails.
2) a distant second is that its more of the "buy now save later" horseshit.
Much better to go after SS or veterans care than this.

Not at all against dumping income tax in favour of consumption or property tax but it’s important to know who pays the ferryman.
"A world-wide subterranean anxiety epidemic" .... as in fear leading to fascism. A good comment on the phenomenon here. Short 5 minutes. Rising demands of information economy's flip side is reversion to fundamentalism, tribalism, racism, fascism among multitudes who don't feel competent in the face of it and are willing to be subjects of authoritarians.

- But it would be your business to know how much money any government workers do right ?
- prices would go incredibly higher hurting the poor the most probably .
And it would promote I suspect a lot more « contraband » and black market .
- yes but nothing prevent them to do it now anyway ?

That tariffs are going to increaxe prices and hurt low end consumers has been the competent analysis from day 1. It's insane to compare price increases from stimulus necessary to stave off 20% employment and price increased from a needless trade war. One is like a side effective from life saving medical treatment. The other is hitting yourself in the head with a hammer for no reason. You should criticize a doctor advocating the latter and bringing up awful chemo side effects in that discussion would be laughed at.

Of course. Because the taxpayer is paying their salary.
But if the government worker is an Uber driver on the side, it is none of my business how much s/he makes doing that job.

Good question! Do states with a high sales tax have "incredibly higher" prices than states with low sales taxes?
Thank god, it's been almost 10 seconds since someone came along with a #BothSidesBad / #BothSidesSame take, I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms.
JFC you can't even make this sh up.

Everyone pays the salaries of everyone …every spending is someone else income.
You just favour a double standard which I dunno why you think it’s great .
No idea but what we see in Canada for example. When prices gets too high due to frivolous taxation -> fraud , black market , etc , increases which in the end counterfeits any benefits of raising those prices to begin with .
IMHO the best way , which usually is the right way , is a mixture of the 2 methods .
But yeah maybe a better readjustment might be in order tho again ,better for who ?
Every changes helps someone but probably would hurt someone else .
