I think Tom's tweet is well balanced. Hope he will do the afterwork on the psychiatric side. He doesn't even need to tell us. Maybe a low dose antipsychotic, cutting down on alcohol and drugs. Much will depend on if he really internalizes this. Long term poker thinking.

Where did I say I was offended? He's the one who made this all SUPER public, I just find it "very Tom" to go on a 50 tweet spree about everything he did, and end it was just "All good guys" and not talk about it ever again.

I don't expect anything, but like a little summary would be nice I guess. Doesn't owe it to anyone, but again, he made this all public.

Well, if you show an emotional reaction towards his obviously contradictory postings it shows your resentment without you saying it directly.
The way he handled it (short and painless) is one way to deal with it for sure.

Put yourself in his shoes. Imagine you go publicly on a twitter rant that is driven by a psycotic phase. That is already pretty embarressing.
Making a short statement is one way to handle the situation and control damage, probably followed by later explainations at the tables.

But you already said it. He owes nobody anything.
But then as a public figure that is just 50% true, as people expect certain behaviours from celebrities because they project expectations onto them while watching them passively.
Which is absurd obviously, because it is presumptuous to expect anything else from entertainment than entertainment and often lack of empathy when the human shines through.
In the end, the viewer does a soul striptease and exposes himself.

Your posts here confuse me. Do you not understand that Dwan is showing signs of serious, major mental illness? Or do you not believe him? You’re writing as though he is just a normal guy with averageish mental health who keeps saying dumb things because he’s weird. The man appears to have had a psychotic break. He’s not sitting in his hospital bet strategizing whether or how best to communicate his experiences over social media. He seems to truly believe that he is the victim of a vast conspiracy to harm or kill him. In other words, he is terrified. He is also not in touch with reality. His break was serious enough that he was not just committed to a mental health facility in the UK, he was kept there for weeks. Others in the thread have commented on how high the bar is to involuntarily commit someone for that long in the UK. Your posts itt amount to criticizing a man who has had a psychotic break for showing the symptoms of a psychotic break.

Most people have a hard time grasp situations like that.
I always wondered if that is just pure ignorance, laziness of making a mental effort to try to really understand someone elses situation, or maybe just the absense of an eQ~(emotional quotient).
The tendency to blame someone for all kinds of things, in situations like this seems more like a cry of helplessness.

Like people smashing every insect that moves, just because it moves. As if the consequense for movement should logically be destruction of life.
I guess it is just the lack of genetic abilities.

IMO. Durrr should probably delete his last week. The one where he attempts to leverage is quasi dealers/poker celebrity from 20 years ago attempting to get his followers to put pressure on for his release meanwhile providing no contacts except tinfoil government conspiracy post.

UK lawyers will easily be able to pick this apart in court.
