President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
I'm gonna take a wild guess and say 79.5%. But I think the important questions we should be asking is how do the minimum wage, health care, banking regulations, unionization rates, and paid parental leave compare between the two countries.
well Canadian per Capita GDP is a lot lower.
Quebec (the most regulated/European like area) is as poor as the poorest American states, and the richest region of Canada is that more akin to USA in political propensity and local regulations and taxes (Alberta).
what else do you need to prove that all those regulations, and in general a local propensity toward leftism, materially make a place a lot more poorer?
what more do you

You're a zealot and a loon.
What's your take on why Canada is much poorer than the USA then? even with the USA wasting a disastrous amount of money on unproductive defense spending for decades?
No idea. What's with all those right wing countries being poorer than Canada, then? Some of them have a ****ton of natural resources, so can't be that.

Which developed countries are rightwing on the economy more than Canada and way poorer?
Which developed countries have less welfare as a % of gdp, lower regulations, lower taxes than Canada, other than the USA? Canada is fairly rightwing internationally on economics, just less than the USA. So it does well, but not as much as the USA do.
Ofc you need fully respected property rights i hope you agree, that's the main reason non-developed countries fail compared to us. But after that, the more leftism on the economics, the poorer you are.

Dude, there's loads of right wing countries in the world. Google it.
OK, so if a left wing country is poor it's because it's left wing. If a right wing country is poor it's because of reasons. Got it.
Don't forget a new Trump tower in Dubai, overcharging the government millions at Trump properties while selling private dinners to donors for 5 millions dollar a piece and receiving foreign guests doing private "investments", golfing for hundreds of millions of dollars while gutting federal science grants, planning tax breaks in trillions for the wealthy while eying cuts to federal pension programs, sending the American economy downhill with poorly implemented tariffs while giving allies inside information. And let us not forget creating an unlawful administrative coup led by the world's richest man and top donor to your presidential campaign that allows him to gut the government corruptly and incompetently, while at the same time giving said man billions in government contracts and levying US diplomatic pressure to force other countries to do the same.
Every Russian kleptocrat that has stolen from his / her country the last 20 years is sitting there wondering why the hell they bothered to try and hide any of it. It turns out if you just do it in the open, people will cheer you on and millions of peons will rush to your defense and point out how evil and uninformed people are if they criticize you.
Not bad for a dumbass.

Cliff Notes:
d2: There are a lot of right wing countries poorer than Canada.
lucium: Can you give me an example of country you are referring to?
d2: No.
That minimum wage is only for federally regulated industries each province has their own minimum wage though the lowest is $14.15
As for universal health care good luck accessing it
I was shocked that the US minimum wage even lower for tipped employees
What’s your point exactly? I challenged you to actually show the flaw in what she was saying, you responded like a moron, I called you a moron, and instead of showing the flaw with what she was saying you responded with a nonsequitor( (hu4rollz IQ edition)— something a moron would do.You’ve proven to the entirety of the forum what a moron you are on multiple occasions, includin
Well said.
roc, let's say you don't think your child should be allowed to eat non organic strawberriesbut your wife brings home some cisstrawberries and feeds them to your childrendo you yell at her in front of your children and undermine her credibility to them going forward or privately voice your concerns about the health factors involved and why you feel it's important that they only
What the **** are cisstrawberries?
No matter the answer, I don't think this is a good analogy. The relationship between Trump and other prominent Republicans isn't akin to a marriage (or at least it shouldn't be). And even if the relationship were akin to a marriage, there is no reason at this point to believe that those Republicans are privately opposing Trump.
Also, there is literally nothing positive that comes from yelling at my wife in front of my kids about strawberries, whereas there are positive aspects to prominent people publicly opposing the dumbest elements of Trump's agenda.

You are forcing the answer by limiting your question to developed countries. Pretty much by definition, a country with a high degree of economic development will not be way poorer than Canada.

all of europe is to the left of Canada economically, do you agree? more fiscal revenue, tighter regulation.
Every single country except perhaps Switerzland and Estonia.
Estonia is the country in the developed world with the best per capita gdp growth worldwide since it came out of communism.
Switzerland is rightwing on economics on par of Canada i would say.
Which rightwing countries do you have in mind in the developed world? the most right-wing countries in the non-developed world (low taxes, low regulations) are the richest: Singapore and the arab states.
But the arab states have oil and singapore is a city state so i am ok not counting them.
What are these imaginary right wing countries that are dirty poor? these countries with low / no tariffs, where you can open a company in a few days and have lighter-than-canada regulations , with no welfare, that are dirty poor?
You are forcing the answer by limiting your question to developed countries. Pretty much by definition, a country with a high degree of economic development will not be way poorer than Canada.
Greece per capita gdp is less than half that of Canada. A lot of developed countries are much poorer than Canada.
They are all to the left of Canada on the economics.
That doesn't count for anything?
Meanwhile i wait for a country with lower regulations and fiscal intake than Canada in the first world that is poorer

Wait, so your argument is that countries like Germany and the UK and Norway etc. etc. are to the left of Canada? So they should be poorer, right?

Most if not all the countries above canada in this list are poorer (per capita gdp).
Below canada:
Baltic states are poorer in a static sense but had the best per capita gdp growth in the developed world since they went off communism (still have work to do to catch up though). Rightwing on economics (low regulation, flat tax, low welfar and so on).
Switzerland i hope we don't need to discuss the fact it is clearly very rightwing on the economics.
USA we know already.
There is south korea, which isn't much to the left of Canada on economics and it's way poorer. I give you that.
We are at what, almost all countries to the left of Canada are poorer, and only one to the right is poorer, among developed countries? counts for nothing?
