Yesterday an intern that works in our hospital asked me to help her find a trumpet solo that couldn't be replicated with AI today (she knows I have a musical background) for some class she's taking. I found something I thought would work and showed her and she said "this will be great, too, because everyone will definitely know this song."
I had absolutely no idea what the song was. I just heard it for the first time when this guy soloed over it. I asked a bunch of people much younger than me and apparently it's APT by Bruno Mars and they all knew it.
Am I old for not knowing that song?

its not praising Putin to say hes not yet as bad as the USA and Israel but is approaching them. in fact, its a pretty damning criticism. liberals think the USA is somehow the peak of morality and thats why observable, objective, logical examples hurt their feelings so much.
A couple anecdotes.....
A distant family member was receiving housing assistance. Not sure exactly where from but I'm assuming VA. He's not really maga but spouts out maga stuff occasionally. His mother sort of takes care of him since he's not quite all there. She's not a hardcore trumper, but a trumper. Guess what, his housing assistance just got pulled. I will remind her every chance I get who is responsible for that.
My neighbor works for an architect/design firm. I don't know exactly what they do but I'm assuming large commercial projects. They are nationwide. We had an impromptu talk about the idiot in charge. The first thing they had to do is scramble to remove anything that could be perceived as DEI from their website since they do some government work. The second thing she mentioned is the contractors doing the actual work are having to scramble to find various building materials. It's a bit of a cluster. The third thing she said is their business is already down 8%.

Everything she said is 100% correct and what people understood as actual privilege for many years. “You are lucky to be able to eat, people starving in Africa would happily eat that food”.
Being a healthy, able-bodied person you should feel a sense of responsibility to the system that gave you that ability.

I'll be honest and say that I still don't know what the discussion is except on the meta-level where I am aware that it is about people here talking about other people talking about other people, and then debating how this supposedly reflected on someone else. was quoted, so I replied.
I don't watch political video, I don't click on links to political social media, I don't click on links embedded from social media. Doing that is how you get political pundits in your feed, which is horrible.
So, I have no idea whether person A is misrepresenting what person B said about person C, or if person B is misrepresenting person C. And I certainly don't know how this informs us about person D. And I never will.
Writing these two posts on the issue has already cost me minutes of my life that I will never get back, and I regret every second of it.

There is still no resolution to supply lines so builders will continue to scramble as it gets harder and more expensive to source material
At some point, if the supply lines get turned back on, there will still be a considerable lag period before supply is returned.
And that probably isn't a return to oversupply so everyone will be scrambling to scoop up whats available which will likely drive prices up even more
