Since the turn is basically a brick, and Villain seems to be a payoff monkey, I think a pot-size bet (or larger) sounds about right.
Marc Goon would likely see the Villain has having a fairly weak hand here, since on this very wet flop with V1 still left to act, I'd imagine Villain would be raising your 1/3 psb with a set or 2-pair.
I 3b slighty bigger pre due the facts:
1. u 3b QQ UTG+1 vs UTG. Everbody with some fundamental understanding of the game will realize were strong here
2. We happy to go HU on the flop vs. UTG (=>postition)
Now as played
Im in a low stake Sandwich
i c-bet flop bigger >60.-
On Turn :
i sometimes just ship here ( your remaining 300 if i get it right) if V2 capable calling a FD
I bet 100 and check call most rivers if V2 is likely to overcall pair and / or bluffing rivers IP vs. check
I never fold turn here
I had a hard time choosing a bet size on the turn. I was trying to put my V on a cold calling 3 bet range. JJ was one of those possibilities, but the flush was there and 77-10s were also possible. Straight draws and 2 pair plus seemed unlikely.
I chose a $90 bet.
V calls
River ($325) red 8
H bets $100
V says I call way too fast.
V shows pocket 55s for a flopped set.
I don’t know what to think here. Should I consider this a cooler? Is this an example of how not to bet size? The turn I thought was difficult because if I go small the draws stay in. If I go big I drive out the small pairs and only the hands that beat me stay in. What does this mean when he calls a 2/3 bet on the turn? How should River be played?
After reading some of the posts today I will be adjusting my pre flop raises.
You ran into a fish who called with 55 preflop for nearly 10% of the effective stack, and then he gambled by only calling the flop.
I still would have bet larger on the turn, with the plan of checking the river and calling a reasonably sized bet.
Fish get to win sometimes. 😀
