Yeh some jobs do suck but there's some good ones as well. Playing live poker though is fairly depressing - casinos are depressing, the people that play all day in there are depressing, the sounds of slot machines are depressing, etc. It's also a big time suck as you physically have to be there to earn money - add to the fact that he actually doesn't make money/barely scrapes by with it isn't too appealing and can't be the best way to spend your life.
Which players would you say play live poker tournaments for a living and have been doing it for a long time and consistently? By that I mean at least 10+ years or more. The names that I think of would be
Eric Baldwin
Dan Heimiller
Ari Engel
I checked their hendon and these guys seem to always have a lot of consistent cashes and high winnings as well. Of course this doesn't include their total buyins which isn't counted into it. Would you say these 3 guys are probably like the top 20 consistent live tournament grinders out there? Eric Baldwin seems to be just very consistent. He's got to be like the top 1% of live tournament grinders out there right?
Are guys like Eric Baldwin averaging at least 100k a year on average playing live tournaments? The thing is all these guys live in Vegas so they aren't traveling much unless they travel to Florida for some tournaments?
