President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

Yeah, because what America really needs is less education. Everyone is just way too educated right now.

God, you MAGA people are ignorant scum. It's like you do your level best to be the shittiest people possible.

? NPR and CBS arend't educational sources, they are media sources (horribly biased, radical leftist media sources).

The head of NPR (Katherine Maher), which was previously CEO of wikimedia (see why wiki has been targeted as well?) has a long list of ultra-woke radical tweets under her name.

I mean, during Floyd-inspired rioting

I mean, sure, looting is counterproductive. But it’s hard to be mad about protests not prioritizing the private property of a system of oppression founded on treating people’s ancestors as private property.

I understand you will deny this is more than enough to consider that person irremediably am horrific radical leftist which should never ever get public funds for anything for the rest of her miserable life, but for normal people on the right, it is.

Like a person like this HEADING A MEDIA COMPANY FUNDED BY THE PUBLIC? and that's education for you? lol

I know reading is hard when you're in the middle of having an apoplectic fit about rAdIcAl leFtIsT mEdIa bIaS, but it's PBS, not CBS.

The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is an American public broadcaster and non-commercial, free-to-air television network based in Arlington, Virginia. PBS is a publicly funded nonprofit organization and the most prominent provider of educational programs to public television stations in the United States.

Surprised you got that so wrong, since BS seems to be your area of expertise.

Platform and policy is largely irrelevant when you can just make **** up. Trump has an army of people going to bat for him, no matter how stupid it is. There are plenty of them on this forum.

People are debating this issue as if they are somehow up against traditional politics and a traditional politician.

USA may not surviuve this but if it does then the democrates will be back at some point. If they haven't built a serious platform then apart from a few years grace it wont make any difference. Just as after Bush and after trump1.

We've helped create his army of people. I kept pointing out that driving huge swathes of the electorate into the welcoming hands of the far right/etc was staggeringly stupid (we've done it in the uk as well). The usual response is that trolling nonsnese about 'yeah we made them vote trump/farage/etc'.

Beyoind that how much they believe is greatty exagerated. Again it's part of the trolling to claim they believe ridiculous stuff because they really stupid rather then for many it being more like singing football chants. Sure some believe but there are more than enough that dont for us to win elections. It's trolling in the muck - it's their turf not ours so of course it goes badly for us.

It may not be too late - may as well try. Or we can find ourselves with more chances and keep doing **** all.

What created his army of the far right is economic stagnation, just as it was in the 1930s, with people willing/wanting to believe that immigrants are the problem.

It's a simple message that resonates strongly with the perpetual victims of a brutal capitalist structure that sucks wages and public services out from the lower and middle classes and into the hands of the 1% expanding their property and shares portfolios.

Wow, so you are actually capable of being lucid. Sober today, I'm guessing? What's the occasion, ran out of booze?

the "deficits don't matter" side, which has bipartisan elements these days in the USA

Everything matters, Lucy, so do degrees.

I like how you pop off in detail based on a misconception created by yourself. Very Trump of you. Tell us your theory about MS13 tattoos.

So in Chezlaw's world they can't think for themselves, and in your world they are hapless victims.

I can certainly see why "conservatives" win elections.

Without a doubt the far right are feeding off many decades of failure. That's not because the supposedly progresive/left side failed to win elections. it's because we failed to do anything.

To give the UK/NHS example. Arguing that immigrants aren't to blame for the failing system is correct. We need to make that case but it's a terrible spot for us and we dont win that argument. When we had the chance we needed to make the NHS a real success again and argue that immigration and public service were vital parts of that success. That''s an argument both true and very winnable. Instead we had new labour who papered some stuff over while selling it out to the private sector. Farage & co are now feasting on that failure.

He is and will be whatever the "conservative" media and social media eco-system makes him out to be. This will be the case for any future democratic candidates as well. They will all be Schrödinger's politicians: To progressives they'll be conservative, to the conservatives they will be radicals, to the left they will be neo-conservatives, to the right they will be Marxists. Th

I was having this exact conversation last night. I dunno how anyone can heal this and its probably why the Democrats appear impotent; they are.

Reality currently doesn't matter. Up is down, left is right, right is right occasionally, and down is whatever conservatives want it to be day to day. Their followers don't care if you shoot them in the dick with proof because they don't trust scient or education or experts but for whatever reason they trust pathological liars with very little consistent messaging.

The reason is that they are very stupid people. I mean, just look on this forum - there isn't a Trumper here with two brain cells to rub together.

Of course you can, you always vote for conservative parties like the donkey party who blame black men for not wanting to vote for the person who loves locking them up. How could they be so stupid and ungrateful and not listen to highly educated libs such as yourself?

You know that people generally get locked up for committing crimes, right? I know that it might be heretical to say that these days in leftist circles, so thought I'd remind you in case you forgot.

The people specialising in dispensing jail sentences disproportionately to people who can’t afford a high standard of legal defence are probably not the ones you want running for POTUS.

Pay attention, we’ve already done this.

If you've already done this, then you should know that prosecutors don't dispense jail sentences (disproportionately or otherwise), judges do. It's an entirely different branch of government. Almost like by design, or something.

You know very well what was meant, pedant.

I'm not the one calling them "victims" or "stupid".

Donkey party says poor people are to blame for their poverty, definitely not a systemic fault. No surprise there.

I do know what you mean, and I think this whole bias against someone running for office because they served as a prosecutor is pretty idiotic.

All you need to solve poverty is for enough middle class suburbanites to graciously support socialism and blame the system for their lack of misfortune.

Money buys you justice or delays justice
