Totally disagree. Tackling the way the police behave is exactly the sort of thing we should demand from government.
It would be very ignornat to think that not tackling the major problems wont directly lead to trump/etc. People demand change and if we dont offer it than others will.

Police are agents of the state/city/county. We have federal agents that do police work at the federal level.
While I agree we should expect the government to do something about it, it would take large changes to make it a federal matter

I don't think we needed large changes and I'm not sure people know what they want until you tell them which is maybe the Democrats largest failing is that they don't have an effective messaging system and are seemingly unwilling to delve into sloppy propaganda, which is admirable but probably ineffective in the marketplace of today.
I've advocated for and even proposed minor changes across a few key areas that would have more than righted the ship with minimal to no pain to the common man.

I never heard those nicknames so hard to imagine they were pervasive but its possible they had some affect
DEI hire who slept her way to the top was the official message and that had deep racial and misogynistic undertones that were incredibly effective

imo the idea it's the messaging rather the message is a huge mistake that is a large part of the reason why our politcal systems are failing so fast and so badly. Communication matters but it's only hard when they have nothing much to say.

The only future changes to law enforcement that lessen police shootings from here will come as a result of the robots - shootings were almost certainly way the **** higher at any time in history than now. But we still need to find a way to not have Robocop shoot people in the dick.

all of this may be true, but its still illegal to sell a gun to someone who has asserted openly they intend to commit a murder with it. and its immoral in most cases. it doenst change if the gun store owner thinks the guy will buy more guns and do more murder with guns from a different store.

She was doing well .
How well was she doing? She lost every swing state. More debates weren't going to change the outcome. She was the sitting Vice President and exit polls showed inflation was the number one issue for voters.
I did not vote for Trump, but the Dems were not going to beat him in 2024 when Democrats were blamed for inflation.
