BigWhale & brother (feat. MuckPls) does Vegas - 2025 edition (21st-31st March)
Hello people,
I can't believe it's been 6 months since I have been in Vegas, and we cannot let that go on for much longer
Yeah it’s probably different for different people. Either way, they could offer me anything, I won’t give them a single cent of action until they are AT LEAST on par with MGM comps. Right now I am only getting mid-week comps at properties like Flamingo but base comps only, nothing extra. It’s not bad as such but nowhere near as good as MGM.
What does MGM give you?
4 comp nights any time including weekends, $375 free play and $450 resort credit and suites at pretty much all properties. Actually taking the opportunity for my June trip to book the biggest/best room at Cosmo as my third hotel.
Wow, you must gamble like a maniac. The value in a CET tier credit multiplier is in making it easier to get Diamond. The whole point of Diamond is making life easier if you spend a lot of time in CET places. Jumping to the front of lines, including poker lists and WSOP lines, no resort fees, free parking, special check-in room, etc are mostly for people that stay there. Once you get Diamond, it's good through the end of the following year. You don't have to gamble at all for those benefits. It's the old man/dad style. You're doing the young man style. Young people have the patience for lines. Old people don't, because we're going to die soon.

I’m 42, I feel old haha. And yes I do gamble a lot, as detailed in my TRs, but probably the most of it is coming from me being Platinum two years ago when it was much easier to achieve the status.
The truth is, if you're coming for the WSOP, the biggest Diamond benefit by far, is being able to jump to the front of the line. If you're thinking of playing a bracelet event, check your tier credits. If you're anywhere near 15,000, consider making the push for Diamond. If waiting in lines is no big deal for you, you haven't seen WSOP lines. Consider that most people register in person, and that it's not uncommon for 2000 people to register for a Flight for the day.
Unfortunately the multiplier days are at the end of your trip.
Unless you're playing the entire series or a large chunk of it, I really don't think pushing for Diamond and the time cost of it is worth the benefit of jumping the lines. I just go there at an offpeak time and buy my tickets then.
It would be different if the hotels (or the free parking) were more of an attraction, but given Muck much prefers MGM properties, I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze

I will only be playing one WSOP bracelet event and I will most likely register the day before. Standing in line sucks but it’s just something i will have to deal with for that single event. I am nowhere near 15 000, I have 2500 total so not going to bother.
Yup, the ONLY benefit for someone like Muck is probably the line jumping. Cash game lines too. Probably the only place he'd want to play is PHo, which is a big unknown at this point.
FWIW, a couple years ago I registered at 6am, regular line was very short . Having come from the East Coast (US) the day before it was not a big deal to go that early so maybe there is an off peak time for Muck to register.

Is the cage to register open 24/7? Because then I won’t have a problem, I usually get up 3 am first week/EU time
Pretty sure the room near the Amazon room is (was). I think they had 4 or 5 windows open (out of about 20) at 6am. This was for registration only IIRC, but not certain. It was a few years ago. I'm sure someone can clarify/correct/confirm in this thread.

Wsop has moved to the Strip since then!
I’ve never regged at 6am but have done at 4am and my guess is that the cage is always open
Yea I think they’re open pretty much 24/7 from the time they open on day 1 until the time they close on the last day.

Yep, 24/7 service.
I've never had a problem with WSOP lines. Register the night before and the wait should be minimal.
Day of registration and re-entry are more volatile and can expose you to long waits, so try to avoid those situations to the extent that you can.
From last year's FAQ, it's open 24/7 except for 5am-6:30am:
"The WSOP Cashiers Cage opens on Tuesday, May 28, at 9:00 a.m. and operates daily through Wednesday, July 17. It is closed for a 90-minute break from 5:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. every day."

I've also regged night before and avoided lines religiously -- the only drawback is you can't late reg and your chips are in play from hand one. Worth it to avoid the crazy reg lines + the late reg line where diamond doesn't help you.
Thanks everyone for the input, this makes my life a lot easier!
I am 100% playing the $500 salute the warriors event on the 15th and there is a decent chance I’ll be playing the $1500 milly maker too. But that all depends on how much of my $3000 package I can sell, I currently have 10% sold and ideally looking to sell 50%.
Guess I should've mentioned why I value Diamond line-jumping so much. I often late-reg tournaments, so I can't reg in the middle of the night because my stack would get blinded down. I also like line-jumping cash games, and at WSOP time, those lines are often horrendous. True, it's only of use at Horseshoe (MAYBE Caesars and PHo), but I don't like any Vegas cash game casinos. So Horseshoe is not much worse than any other as far as I'm concerned, might as well play there.
