Oh I wasn't saying that he's intelligent. My post about his 20 years dominating academics was to highlight that it's highly unlikely he went all that time without being diagnosed. A teacher or professor or counselor would have surely refered him or his parents onto a specialist. We are talking about a period in time where autism is being over-diagnosed if anything. Most adults who go through life undiagnosed likely finished their schooling decades ago, or else they could just be very borderline cases who slipped through the system.

I also hope Diesel starts showing his daily results cause he thinks it's a brag now. A little over seven hours for +$54. Not bad for someone clearly not included of people living on the margins. But remember when he laughed when people said he was making minimum wage and single digit hourly. Nope he's lifetime $14/hr over 10k hours buddy. Just don't ask about the last 3 years.

Got to give credit where it is due.
In Trooper's latest video, he won a small, but decent, amount. Much more importantly, he addressed his strategy, and how he has changed and is adjusting it.
The largest change he will try and make is to lower the variance. For him, that is probably a very positive change to his strategy, ESPECIALLY if he has a low roll. Of course, talk is cheap, and time will tell IF he can accomplish this.
He is also trying to stick to a schedule, which is good. It is bad in that he is trying to work "9 to 5". This is likely when games are the worst/tightest.
Finally, he admitted that he spends too much on coffee/food on the strip, so he is going to cut down on that by moving downscale (McDonalds) and also sometimes bringing his own food.
So he has a plan for moving forward. Good luck to him in accomplishing it!

That's the weird thing with poker. The best way to lower LONG TERM variance isn't playing super tight and keeping pots small or not raising/three betting hands. That lowers your win rate as Diesel has proven. Sure your SHORT TERM variance will be smaller.
If you are in a typical Vegas game at Horseshoe, I guarantee that by being selectively tight aggressive up to the point of almost hyper aggressive, your short term variance will increase but will be offset by stealing so many small pots and winning larger pots on the turn or river WITHOUT SHOWDOWN. The kids call this your red line.
Can you imagine what Diesel's and Trooper's red line is? There's a reason why Trooper breaks even at best and Diesel has a single digit hourly but hey, they have super low variance!

It's counterintuitive but let me give an example.
Let's say there's a few players that like to limp and see flops but are fit or fold. The super tight player just folds T8 off on the button after one of these player types limp. A good player in tune with the game will raise it up and either win the pot preflop, one of the blinds call where you just play the hand straight up or best case scenario is only the limper calls and you are now a 2-1 favorite to auto c bet flop and win cause the limper missed. Now here's the best part. If the board is favorable to you or you get a scary turn card to rep, you'll win a bigger pot with a double barrel.
These situations come up often and the good player will be at least a 2-1 favorite to win these pots easily without making a hand. Situations a super tight Diesel type nit will NEVER be in. Picking up 5-10 big blinds maybe twice an hour is huge to smooth out the times you are card dead.
How many times have you, if you are playing TAG, end up going a whole session and only showed down a hand less than 5 times yet still book a solid win of a full buy in or more?
While yes these hands add up to your bottom line and help increase your hourly, they also smooth out the variance cause these players are adding these extra big blinds with little to no risk.

I mean sure the player type I mentioned would swing more. I just don't consider hands like this comparable to hands where you push small edges for larger bets like choosing to triple barrel a missed flush draw.
I consider these more about the situation at hand and not really about the quality of hand you have. Also these situational hands, you aren't really risking a lot of chips. You are just making a raise and maybe a c bet or double barrel and that's it.

Buying in short is a horrible idea. If all the stacks are huge you can flop an 80-90% hand and make nothing and get called more because they are priced in and will call and suck out more. It's painfully clear Tim is pretty much flat broke. Instead of getting a job dealing (which he is great at and would rise up the ladder quickly) and get health care too (his teeth make me ill) he continues to kid himself on YT. I mean jeez man he can't even get 75k followers where I see 16 year old girl bowlers with 400k. Tim is a gig worker and we all know how that goes. Unfortunately this story will just keep writing itself. It's a trainwreck with no end in sight.

For sure. Rice could pull whatever he wants into his poker roll, provided that he studies and improves. With his frugality and a reasonable 2/5 win rate, he could fast forward to his retirement dream.
