Are you travelling to WSOP 25?
I remember having a great first time last year and thought I could maybe plan a couple weeks every year if the schedule
Don't go to Canada their crime rate has been skyrocketing in recent years.
Looks like that WSOP will be missing lots of European and Chinese players...
I mean, time to get real people:
Trump's ICE is snatching people off the streets, just like that, no due process or whatever, just bc they don't like their skin color
This man they put into this prison in El Salvador or wherever it was, he was in the US totally legal, with paperwork, never committed a crime ... if that doesn't wake you up, then you are part of the problem.
so yes, the travel warning issued by multiple countries is real and absolutely justified, and the WSOP (and not only them) will feel the impact

Might make sense for countries issuing travel warnings to specify color.
God I hate politics. All y'all are way overblowing it. Calm down ffs, go touch some grass and get off the internet.
Rule of law still applies in the US, but I'm sure some people on the margins got ****ed for stupid reasons, that's just law of large numbers, I'm sure it was happening pre-Trump too.
Literally noone will change plans because of some ****ing travel advisory. Economic downturn might have an effect if it happens.

This one I'm straight up not buying and I'm questioning sanity of anyone who does. Taken straight to prison, not even jail? Yeah right. I know people who were denied, there was always a reason and they spent ~24hrs in some cell (no gangs) and sent back home.

so much ignorance and stupidity ... i could never understand how people in Germany supported Hitler (seeing what he was doing), or at least closed their eyes to it, claimed not to see anything.
Now i do understand.

So your theory is that the Australian MMA guy just made up the story, putting any of his future business and travel interests in the USA in jeopardy? That seems like a pretty poorly thought out theory. Perhaps the more likely scenario is that you are the insane one, and your head is in the sand because this administration hasn't affected you personally yet, and its easier to live your life without questioning your worldview?
My wife is a Turkish professor here on a visa, so I don't have the luxury of just pretending this isn't happening while she watches the videos of masked unidentified men in unmarked cars kidnapping women off the street.

You might want to check your “facts”.
1. Was in US illegally
2. Was/is a member of MS13
3. Had been adjudicated and was already subject to a deportation order.
4. That order has been upheld but it had a condition he should not be deported to El Salvador.
That he was deported isn’t the issue. It is the where he was sent that is being worked. SCOTUS said need to facilitate his return but he can immediately be redeported just not to El Salvador.
It’s kinda mildly amusing when you guys all of a sudden are interested in facts while you happily ignore them 99% of the time when they don’t fit into your narrative :-))

It is very amusing when people jump in tossing around statements to support their position but when called on it with the facts they resort to trying to spin a narrative.
You jumped in with both feet spouting a false narrative. Fact is I always value the facts. I don’t ignore them I use them to form my position. If what I posted is incorrect, feel free to correct my errors. It might even change my narrative (which you don’t even know).
Hint: I have real concerns about deporting persons directly into an El Salvador prison. It just isn’t because this was some super nice Mr. Rodger’s guy being falsely deported.
Reconsidered after all the border shenigans going on. Not like playing poker is worth getting hassled at the border or worse.
Too bad since got a hunch that games will be great with all the euro nit pros away.

The mere notion that you will be harassed at the border for going to Las Vegas and playing poker is just LOL-worthy, unless you are flying in from Afghanistan via North Korea or something. Where do people get these absurd ideas from, considering how many millions of people that fly in every day into the US without a hitch.
It has always been that way, regardless of who the President is, that it's ultimately up to the border agents if you are allowed entry into the US or not. Some are probably a*holes and looking for ways to be difficult, and others are more reasonable. Just like in every single profession there is. But I would be willing to bet a big portion of my bankroll that there does not exist any standing order to be more strict & trigger happy.
Don't get me wrong, as a European rec going to his first WSOP I obviously hope that some annoying & tanking Euro Pros are stupid and believe what they read in the media, and thus decide not to go.

Nice non claim you make. Where am I wrong? SCOTUS did not say he can’t be deported. They said the prior immigration court finding he could not be deported to El Salvador, but could still be deported, stands unless current due process overruled. You still have not pointed to a factual error.
SCOTUS did not find he was here legally since they can’t. That would be a finding of fact that was not before them.
SCOTUS did not say he could not be deported.
They said since there was a current valid order he could not be deported to El Salvador wo a rehearing on that point.
And you still have no clue what my position on these deportations in general nor position on Trump are. You current characterization is far from correct.

no, you are completely correct ... i overreacted, fell for the fake news. all good.
I could not imagine traveling from outside the US with the plan to visit America for an extended period of time under the guise of professional gambler. There is an abandonment of due process in this country, especially for non-citizens. While the odds of it happening would be low, you cannot rule out being detained at customs due to posts that are considered detrimental to the American support of Israel. In addition, if you have brown skin and tattoos such as MJ's "jump man" logo all it takes is one dickhead ICE officer to have you sent to an El Salvador megaprison in a matter of hours and you will never be returned.
Coming to the US with either a bunch of cash or a story about how you're gonna stay in an AirBNB to play poker tournaments all summer will definitely put you higher on the question list of customs/ICE. Some of them will see you as a degen gambler, and question that, or think you've got some bullshit cover story for drugs.
You cannot pretend that this is only happening to the bad ones where there are countless stories of this happening in our country right now. Regardless, if the worst of the worst don't have due process, the most law abiding citizen does not have due process either. If I was a euro, I'd be saving my money for EPT Barcelona.

I was there last week and the plo pool was absolutely infested with euros and usually that's not the case until wsop. It doesn't seem to me like they're worried.

Does anyone have any evidence of completely innocent people being deported or refused entry?
Looking at a NBC News article it seems the amount of deportation is fairly standard.
ICE are claiming in July of last year (so Biden adminstration) that there were 435, 000 illegal aliens with criminal records currently in the US who were not in custody.
Seems like people just got too comfortable flaunting the laws here. Most countries would never let things get this out of control in the first place.
The US has an estimated 11 million illegal aliens that's absolutely insane to me.
In Thailand if you have to talk to the police for any reason and they see you are overstaying even a few days you will be deported.
Guilt or innocence has no place in it. We're kidnapping and moving people who exercise free speech and asylum seekers to concentration camps in El Salvador. There's no due process. The executive has claimed we're at war and is using the alien enemies act to remove people outside of our jurisdiction.
Rich people with perceived visa errors are being detained for days or weeks in ICE custody or federal prison rather than being turned away. There are countless reports on them.

In every one of your situations presented, the person was in violation of the visa rules. You do NOT need to commit a crime to be denied entry nor deported.
In the Columbian case, the court has ruled upon completion of due process, he can be deported.

I never said that one needs to commit a crime to be denied entry or be deported.
How was the Georgetown postgrad in violation of visa rules?
The Harvard scientist violated a customs rule, the penalty for which is typically a small fine, not months of detention and potential deportation.
As to the former Columbia student, your "upon completion of due process" qualifier is doing a lot of heavy lifting. The government is blatantly retaliating against him for protected speech and is engaging in unlawful viewpoint discrimination. The Louisiana immigration judge said that she did not have jurisdiction to address these constitutional issues, and they will be litigated in district court.
