President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
He’s leaving his options open. Remember in his previous term things were always promised in two weeks, by which time there had, by design, been such a downpour of **** that people had forgotten about whatever it was. Or he could replay this whole fiasco again if Musk hasn’t reached the trillionaire mark yet.
For all his well documented stupidity he does instinctively understand some things well, such as the media’s inability to focus on more than one thing at a time.
In three months he can start mass deportations, or criminal proceedings against his opponents, or start sabre rattling Iran or some other scandalous behaviour and no one will talk about tariffs.

Don't really need to go to the previous term for this stupidity. Already had nonsense the with the Greenland, Canada, Panama stuff...
I agree he's very good at keeping the shitblizzard going

Panama was such a "nonsense", that when american companies lead by blackrock then tried to buy the management company for the 2 crucial systemic ports on the 2 sides of the canal, which is listed in HK, and they had a deal agreed by the parties, Xi just personally intervened to block it.
So we went from "uh boooh Trump is making up non existent chinese influence in Panama as an excuse to mess with them" to "well actually we now know for a certainty China has a crucial influence on Panama and that's a massive security risk for the USA and the canal should get back to complete american influence and control by any mean necessary".
It might do the world a favour long-term if a major crash displaces Trump
By what mechanism?
preferably a maddened mob storming Mar A Lago, but any way would be fine.
Or a bleach injection.
"i don't think insider trading as a concept should be illegal i think it's absurd it is illegal to begin with, including for CEOs and everyone else.
By making it illegal you make it much more profitable (if it wasn't illegal you would see changes in volumes immediatly and you could trade accordingly). It's like for drugs. Not saying it's "good" when people do insider trading, i am saying making it illegal is worse than accepting it will happen structurally anyway.
Caveat emptor, i am a libertarian."
The way I understand it, insider trading laws exist to protect the smaller investor from being at an overwhelmingly big disadvantage (we can argue if this was ever achieved or not). I can have the resources and influence to put people inside most corporations, law firms, the SEC itself etc, the means and willingness to bribe CEOs, maybe even authorities, and just make money accordingly, and if you're small and don't have the same resources as I do, unless you invest with me, you are at a substantial disadvantage period.
Vance is a consummate opportunist who will passionately espouse the values of whoever his boss is because he has no ideas of his own, and it’s served him very well so far.
When the order of the day is fascism he will tattoo himself and nazi salute along with the best of them, which is how he got the gig. He’s basically America’s Grant Schapps.
Make education great again?

we don’t go into the rationale for what happens with individual visas.
“We seek clarity amidst reports that student visas are being revoked and records are being terminated in the Student Exchange Visitor Information System without additional information being shared with the institutions those students attend,” the letter reads.
“I think the strategy here is the same strategy that they’re employing in their other enforcement actions, and that is, create fear, panic, hysteria … with the hopes that people will just leave, right? And we’re seeing that happen. We’re seeing students get scared and leave. They’re dropping out school and they’re going back home,” said Jeff Joseph, president-elect of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
No, we aren't going to weaponize the justice department. No, not at all....

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump intensified his efforts to punish his critics by signing a pair of memoranda directing the Justice Department to investigate two officials from his first administration and stripping them of any security clearances they may have.
if you kill 10 people then magically resurrect 8 of them, you can claim that's "better than Jesus" but it still sucks, and 2 would be dead.sp500 is still lower than when trump **** everywhere like a drunk pigeon on April 2 with the demented worldwide table of tariffs set on bilateral trade deficits and calling them reciprocal.
The point is this got the worlds attention. Now we w
What deals were made?
Do you have any source for this?
I can't find anything.
Flowers for Leavitt and Karine Jean-Pierre. Their jobs were damn near impossible, giving their bosses' messages out and having to answer for them.
Very tough job. I think Sarah Huckabee Sanders was the best at it in recent memory, and Kayleigh Whatsherface was also good. Sean Spicer was horrible, Jen Psaki annoyed the hell out of me but was pretty good (got the Dems all riled up with her Psaki bombs) and immediately parlayed that **** into a plush media job, KJP was mediocre. I haven't seen this Leavitt lady enough yet, but she certainly seems to have the lack of shame required for the role.
I'd love to try this job for a week or two. I want to know if I can continuously lie effectively, including in an extemporaneous manner. I honestly think there's an art to it, and it's why I have real opinions on all of them 😆
"He [pointing] made two and a half billion today and he [pointing] made nine hundred million"
Sean Spicer was the most entertaining. You could virtually see his brain unspooling with each news conference.
Spicer hiding in the bushes after Comey was fired was comedy gold.
