President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

Mongodigaloid calling someone a bigot. That's rich.

He knows that. He's trolling.

He knows that. He's trolling.

I think he's actually that stupid. I'm no longer giving troll credit to people.

This. It's actually pretty hard to overstate how dumb that guy is. He's like at the absolute zero of the intelligence scale. There are single celled organisms at the bottom of the Mariana Trench who have a better understanding than him of... everything.

how'd that recovery go today?

He is that dumb, but also he knows he's a racist and it doesn't take much of a brain to go "no u".

Bloomberg: ‘My Bad’: Bill Ackman Lays Bare Wall Street’s Big Fail on Trump

“My bad.”

It was nearly 9 p.m. and Bill Ackman, public face of the billionaire class that embraced Donald Trump, was tweeting his way into the eye of the financial storm.

World markets were reeling because Trump, to the smart money’s apparent surprise, was following through on his oft-repeated threats to impose punishing tariffs.

Now, on a Sunday night — after nearly $6 trillion had been wiped out in an epic two-day market rout, with more pain to come — Ackman was launching into mea culpa mode.

“I don’t think this was foreseeable,” the hedge-fund mogul posted on X. “I assumed economic rationality would be paramount.”

Ackman, like so many on Wall Street, assumed wrong.

All of them largely ignored what now seems blazingly obvious: President Trump appears willing to do exactly what he vowed to do. He’s prepared to upend the entire global economic order, imposing baseline 10% tariffs on imports, with additional levies on goods arriving from about 60 countries. By the closing bell Monday, after another dizzying day that included false headlines sparking a short-lived $2.5 trillion rally and threats of even higher tariffs on China, Trump was insisting he’d press on, market meltdown be damned.

“There were people who were behind Trump for selfish reasons,” said Jason Mudrick, who runs credit hedge fund Mudrick Capital Management. “Now it’s hit their stock portfolios, and they are saying ‘holy sh-t’ — they didn’t expect he would do it."

Lot of TDS around today.

Lot of TDS around today.

I'll give him credit. It takes a certain kind of incompetence to start a global recession.

Meanwhile, Trump casually kills likely millions more people.

The US ends lifesaving food aid for millions. The World Food Program calls it a ‘death sentence’

https://apnews.com/article/usaid-trump-h...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has ended funding to U.N. World Food Program emergency programs helping keep millions alive in Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and 11 other impoverished countries, many of them struggling with conflict, according to the organization and officials who spoke to The Associated Press.

The World Food Program, the largest provider of food aid, appealed to the U.S. to roll back the new cuts in a social media post Monday. The unexpected round of contract cancellations has targeted some of the last remaining humanitarian programs run by the U.S. Agency for International Development, according to two U.S. officials, a United Nations official and documents obtained by the AP.

“This could amount to a death sentence for millions of people facing extreme hunger and starvation,” WFP said on X.

He ran on these tariffs so I don't understand all this mass representation of confused face. You voted for a clown and you are getting a clown show. What?

Not a wise thing to do. Kind of weird actually. Even stranger that a random dude on the internet made you do this.

Meh. I doxxed myself well over 15 years ago. We've all been there.

Thing is I used to be friends with a lot of people here and that's the way I interacted generally on this site until I got TDS in 2016. It doesn't seem that weird to me for people to know who you are.
