Aria 5-5-10/20 PLO: nuts str, no redraw, very deep, 3 ways
V1 4,5K
V2 3Kish
Hero 6,5K
Open raise middle pos V1 to 80, V2 Button calls, Hero QJT8 ss (with spades, no diamond in hand) in BB calls.
Flop Ac Kd Td. We flop nuts with no redraw, and no flush blockers.
I check, V1 leads for 200, V2 calls, we call (standard i would say, or anybody thinks not?)
Now it gets interesting:
Turn 7h, complete blank.
I check again, V1 bets again, but only 200, V2 calls.
i decided to call again (only), bc we are still very deep, and if someone has the same str with a redraw we are obviously toast, but in retrospect i'm not so sure anymore. If he really had the same str, he should have bet bigger, it's basically a block bet to get a free card (to either a flush or a boat).
long story short: river another brick, i check again, both check behind, and my str wins.
but i'd really like to know how the consensus is about CR the turn ... even still being very deep as described, and with no redraw. Thx

This turn sizing isn’t a thing. I would just treat it like a check.
In multi-way spots we want to be raising way more when we have strong hands as we have multiple interested parties in the pot. It doesn’t have to be big, but you need to capture the EV your hand warrants. I’d rather just call with a hand like AKQJ with hearts as we block everything, have the nuts and have a redraw. Nothing can really call a raise and really we are just hoping to cooler the nuts with no redraw.
Here you unblock both A and K, have a boat blocker in the T, but unblock flush draws. I’d raise to around $7-800 then play rivers.

Interesting.
So you don’t take into consideration that V2 could have exactly that hand (str with a flush redraw)???
I do but once we get a small bet on turn and just a call I greatly diminish it.
People generally aren’t capable of slow playing and the ones that are and do it properly are only the strongest of opponents. It’s not like it went POT CALL CALL THEN POT CALL.
We also attack small bets in theory much more often with check raises, with both nuts and strong draws/blockers. Allowing him to bet small to see a cheap river allows him to exploit you.
It’s the turn bet sizing that allows you to raise here along with blocking a T and unblocking all sets and flush draws.

Understood, thx.
So my gut was right, but didn’t follow through.

Not saying not to raise the turn but just want to call attention to the fact that a villain with the same straight but no flush draw has ~1/2 the deck still to miss the river, and may block bet on the basis their hand is about the same strength as a draw or bloat the pot because they're worried their hand is vulnerable. They don't want to check and give a free card and don't want to bloat the pot in case they're up against another straight in one opponents' hand and a two-way draw in the other.
Your "big" blind is only $5 right? And they raised to 16 times that? Obvious fold preflop.
