Not a good play.
I get it i opponent folds alot you start to widen up your 3b range,
but J8o is terrible hand esp when you are also deep.
You also have only 30 hands on button, so cannot make any assumptions yet.
Every street is a punt.

This seems like a over-adjustment, especially as you only have 31 hands on them but I'm not sure it'd ever be a good play pf.

20 pfr over 31 hands is not a reason to 3b J8o from SB vs huge open. I think you want a linear 3b range from SB vs BTN, and J8o is nowhere near it. Even if you wanted a polarised range, youd want the bluff part to at least have equity when called (suited high cards etc).

Postflop its ok to bluff with little equity, and your hand is so bad it might be alright to bluff. 3 streets for your entire stack when everything gets there isnt good here though, i think.

u can raise an aggro with GOOD hands not marginals

bonkers mate

Thought so.. He folded but yeah looking back at it, it doesn't look profitable long term, not sure what I was thinking. Thanks for the replies everyone.

BTN looks loose - but only has 20% PFR and their range to ISO a limp will typically be stronger than a raise first in. Also a 40vpip player is likely to flat your 3bet a lot here, which is a disaster for your hand.

I'm not keen on the turn barrel either - The weakest hands to call the flop will be backdoor diamond hands and ace highs, both which improve.

Very few hands make sense for value if villian is thinking this way, just nutty postflop play after the cbet is called.
