I'm sure that wearing a mask does significantly reduce your chances of getting covid. But the only reason we're having this discussion is because someone called it a "foolproof solution", which is ridiculous.

Going back to the OP, someone who is clearly sick and most likely with a contagious disease, he should not be allowed to play while doing nothing to at least reduce the likelihood of spreading it.

Foolproof can be a significant reduction in probability. See alternate defintition: Dependable

It's also foolproof because any fool can throw on a mask.

I've had Covid roughly three times, and a cough that lasted six weeks, all from casino environments while not wearing a mask.

Since I started wearing one 12 months ago I haven't gotten sick once.

I know this means little in terms of statistics, and also I'm tempting fate, but it is a very succesful case study nonetheless.

Plus doctors rely on these little guys. Why would doctors wear them if they weren't super dependable?

Breathing is a foolproof way of absorbing Oxygen.

However, there is still a tiny chance that all Oxygen molecules will gather in the corner of a room and for a moment you won't be able to breathe.

The chances of that are around (10)^[(−9.92)×(10)^25] to 1. According to Grok, Chemistry and Avogadro's number.

Cliffs: Wear a mask. I rest my case.

There's a foolproof solution that everybody hates.

Wear a mask.

A regular medical mask will not prevent covid19. Everyone should already know this FFS. You will require a N95 mask and even if that works, you can still get sick via water droplets in your eyes.

I would have gotten the floor and at the very least embarrass the hell out of the inconsiderate jerk.

I'd call the floor, it's ridiculous being jammed up against some clown who's brought their fever + respiratory infection into a public space.

Home game I would judge the situation, like if they're the whale I'm probably going home unless the money is so good I can't pass it up. If I'm +0EV against them, I'll try to get them to go home or have the host send them home, if I have the social credit, and otherwise I'll probably just leave.

Check raise them

Damn, someone who knows the facts.

This man is correct. N95 are required. In conjunction with eye protection. You can get sick through your eyes, as ridiculous as that may sound to some, it's actually true.

I carry a stack of masks for just this situation. If they are seriously ill, I feel it is your responsibility to call the floor. Chances are, you are not the only one bothered. Health is far more important than most MTT's.
