Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A K

UTG calls 1 BB, MP raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 12 BB, fold, MP calls 9 BB

Calling is mandatory, especially with Diamond and just xf the turn unimproved.
Maybe against some nits that you know they always have the nuts here, you could make the exploitative fold just to avoid the troublesome spots.

I would think that we dont want to have a diamond, so its more likely that the villain has a diamond draw?

I think the equity the kd gives us is more important on flop vs the potential they have semi bluffs. If they barrel off with a fd and we don't connect it will be hard to call down anyway.
