So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

Embarrassing list of demands from Premier Smith and ridiculous starting point with the new PM. There's 2 valid points in here and then a bunch of unworkable BS.

I’m curious which two you think are valid Carney will not care about Alberta he has said he wants oil and gas gone

wtf poilievre banning the media from his campaign busses and plane??? wtf??

Like this is the guy you folks are proud to support?

Liberal biased let them find their own way

I get a kick out of the liberal campaign . We need someone with business experience and who has served in economic positions not Pierre who has never

Hmm yet they supported the drama teacher ?

OUR Current liberal government is a disgrace!
1. $700 billion further in debt in just 9 years.
2. Another $62 billion debt so far this year and are averaging $100 billion debt per year currently.
3. Trudeau liberal debt is more than all previous PM’s combined dating back to 1867.
4. House of Commons has been down since Oct 2/24 as Trudeau refuses to hand over the redacted documents that show which liberals stole the $400 million from the green initiative fund.
5. Trudeau’s mass immigration of close to 1 million legal and illegal immigrants, refugees, landed immigrants per year has crippled our healthcare and housing systems. 1400 homeless camps in Ontario alone.
6. Trudeau has lied to Canadians about bill C21 saying it was only hand guns but now includes over 1800 rifles that are now banned. It was pushed through so fast the list isn’t available to the public yet. The muzzle velocity size also will include all shotguns. Canada will be forced to be weapon less. Citizens use these guns to support their families and for sport. They have been cleared by the RCMP.
7. Bill C63 will disproportionately affect free speech to the point of citizens being jailed if they think badly about another person. This bill infringes on Canadians freedom.
8. Carbon tax is at $0.17 going to $0.61 in 5 years but Canada’s carbon output is at 1.5% of the world’s carbon. It has been at that level for the last 20 years and is projected to stay at 1.5% until 2040 regardless if the country completely changes to EV. Meanwhile nobody else has a carbon tax.
9. China’s carbon output sits at 30.9% of the worlds carbon and they start up a new coal fired power plant every 2 weeks. Canada is not a carbon problem.
10. Carbon tax takes an estimated $30 billion per year out of the Canadian economy. Now Freeland and Carney who created it and said it was far too important are now running for PM and on the platform that they will axe the carbon tax. Yes they will but they will bring in an equivalent or higher tax called a different name that way they won’t be lying to you.
11. Carbon tax is put on every item 4-6 times before the consumer purchases it. Every time an item is moved it is carbon taxed. So a fruit grown on a farm, the farmer is carbon taxed, sends to production plant, carbon taxed along with all packaging. Sent to storage, carbon taxed, sent to distributor carbon taxed, sent to grocery store carbon taxed, consumer drives to pick up groceries, carbon taxed and HST is on top of the carbon tax along the way.
12. Food bank usage 2024 was 8 million visits in Ontario alone, 31% increase over 2023 and 134% increase over 2019/2020.
13. Liberals have sent 29.5 billion to Ukraine with reports that Zelinsky now owns a mega yacht and his wife purchased a new Bugatti Turbillon at a cost of $4,832,325.00
14. Liberals have spent more money on consultants than the army, navy and Air Force combined over the last 9 years.
15. Trudeau has allowed terrorists into Canada and has publicly defended the move and refuses to deport them stating they are now Canadian citizens. This is now an issue for the US regarding border security and crime.
16. Veterans have asked for more money and Trudeau told them Canada cannot afford it but gave multiple convicted terrorists $10.5 million each.
17. World economic forum (WEF) has plans that are not in the interests of democratic societies. Their plan is 1 world order to which Trudeau, Freeland, Jagmeet Singh and Mark carney are members.
18. Deceit and chaos has happened for the last 9 years. Anything from liberals using their companies to clean out $400 million from the green initiative fund to hiding behind (who is Randy) to not purposefully answering questions in the House of Commons. Then raising taxes so families can’t eat, increasing capital gains taxes so Doctors go to the US so they won’t have to pay 66.67% when they sell there practices. With the lack of doctors their practices are now worthless.
19. Mass wait times in hospital even with serious injuries. Average healthcare wait times for procedures is now at 30 weeks. This is the longest wait times ever in Canada. All thanks to the liberal regime.
20. Government contracts have not been properly RFP’d out with friends and sometimes government employees getting the contracts. Example is the arrive Can app which should have cost $60,000 but ended up costing $55 million and the founders of GC strategies was a Government employee.
21. CBC which costs Canadians over 1 billion a year is just 1 example of Canadian media that we pay for and is biased to which ever party is currently ruling. They are paid through bell media and report biased news.
22. Interest on the debt will be $326 billion over the next 6 years, more than what our healthcare costs.
23. Crime in Canada under Trudeau’s catch and release program has skyrocketed up in every sector anywhere from 30% to over 500%. Some criminals have been arrested over 70 times and are still set free on bail.
24. Liberals want to go digital ID plus end paper currency. Ending paper currency allows the banks to make even more money plus the government plans on doing our taxes for us, they will get permission via a vote to access our bank accounts, any deposits will automatically qualify as taxable income. So if you sell a lawnmower you now pay more tax. We are taxed to death in this country.
25. Truckers protest got slightly out of hand on both sides. But main reason was Trudeau would not come out of hiding and have a civil meeting. Trudeau and Freeland then went beyond a democratic government and seized bank accounts of the protesters and people that donated money. They also brought in the RCMP who proceeded to trample people in wheelchairs and almost started another Tiananmen Square confrontation. The army refused to come in and subsequently Trudeau has forwarded their reserve resources to Ukraine thus leaving bases with less than a week’s supply to defend Canada, is he hoping we will be taken over or just revenge against the army that didn’t operate on his command????
Current debt average of $100 billion per year Canada stands to loose its healthcare, programs, and pension plan. Liberals plan on shutting down our exports which will flip the GDP in a negative way which will increase our interest % and thus charges. Eventually we will be prime to be taken over by China, Russia or the USA.

political environment changes so needs changes shrug

I am bit surprised that Carney and Poilievre are not tripping over each other to be the first to commit that Canada will, starting in 2026, meet the 2% of GDP target for military/defense spending, and will continue to meet it going forward.

If there ever was a time to commit to this, it would be now, imo.

Sends a message to EU and UK allies, and a message to Trump in that it hurts one of his talking points.

I think bill c-69 needs work or there at least needs to be a compromise to fast track assessments and we probably should be pushing for more pipelines (although it is suicide for the feds to do that unilaterally). There's been no policy pushes out of Alberta other than screaming sovereignty while asking the feds to steamroll the other provinces.

Do you see any mention of caring for anything else about her citizens other than what the lobby pays her for? Never. She wants complete deregulation to get paid. There is a middle ground but she's nowhere near it.

well supposedly canada is trying hard to make military deal with europe at this moment, decreasing its dependency on military material from the US ?

I mean this is a liberal commitment AFAIK (and i'm sure the cons as well as they have been talking arctic security etc)

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/defence...

There's a lot of talk about what qualifies as defence spending. I'm hoping that some big infrastructure spending in the North will partly qualify. We need to build out arctic sovereignty and unlock resources there.

Someone from another country would have to wonder how bad the Conservatives are if they could not take down the above train-wreck of a Liberal Government in two tries. Maybe three??? who knows.

The first time they ran on "Trudeau sucks" and that didn't work.

The 2nd try was a different approach. It was "Trudeau sucks", and it didn't work again.

But, to give the Conservatives some credit, this time they are saying Carney is just like Trudeau, and "Trudeau sucks," so vote us in.

Will probably work this time.

I get a kick out of conservatives who spent over a decade going on and on and on about “drama teacher” and now pretend like carney being among the most experienced people imaginable while poilievre has never worked in private sector is just a total non-issue.

Carney is very very sneaky! Sneaky Davos man be careful! Just how sneaky is he!?!?

not sure about that campaign choice. Canadians might want some one kind of sneaky atm.

by uke_master

great mind reading!

Nothing says you care about climate change more than caping domestic production while importing 180M barrels of oil annually form places like Saudi Arabi, West Africa and USA. But I'm sure after seeing the success of our carbon tax they will be implementing one any day now. I mean they have a moral obligation to.

by lozen

April 28th it looks like were going to the polls

yep that makes sense its the right strategy. he wants to capitalize on trump

by Luciom

You can like them becoming part of your country and that's not the issue, still if you import a lot of them per capita GDP is lower than it would otherwise had been.Which is what you see in the data. And which is why you cannot use per capita gdp in 10 year being flat to claim that "Canada saw no growth".Let me use a simplified example. You have 10 people making 100k each per y

But what if I care about the quality of life of Canadians even immigrants over higher total gdp?

na Canadians don't want that its a waste of money. an extra 1% might also bankrupt us.

Does anyone here actually think investing more money in the military actually accomplishes anything? Were on an island with 1 country that spends like 100% of are gdp on military. The current funds should just be redistributed to an icebreaker fleet and navy

Zelensky's wife buying that expensive car a year ago was debunked. probably also all the other propoganda in your post lozen

Yeah she sounds like the leader of Quebec

Ok remove that one and
Plant 2 billion trees but only got 5 million
Says he is a feminist but fired every strong women
Destroyed a generals career
We scandal

Sadly the reality is Carney could win but I am more comfortable with him than Justin

Justin should be tried for treason and hung at the Super Bowl halftime show

I have to admit, Carney cancelling the GST for first time home buyers is a solid policy I can support.

Good to see you and poilievre have moved on from mind reading Trump (which you said was bad and that liberals did it despite zero quotes) to….uh…thinking that stating the tragedy of the commons is some big pwn the libs. We know.

Copycat Carney.

by Shifty86

Copycat Carney.

maybe, arillta veeeeery smart person.

if you don't like liberals, and there are plenty of reasons not to like them, I understand the frustration.

they got one of the best people they could at their helm and that makes them very dangerous (for people who don't like them).

but no matter what don't underestimate your enemy. Carney is truly capable and really really smart

Having an army isn’t a waste of money, it just being pragmatic .
And army can be summoned for help during crisis too .

https://www.veterans.gc.ca/en/remembranc...

Floods, fires or storms—disaster can strike at any moment and can vary widely in scope and scale. When provinces and territories are overwhelmed in these situations, they can ask the Canadian Armed Forces for help. CAF members can mobilize quickly and provide relief to Canadians in dangerous situations, such as rising floodwaters or raging wildfires.

The CAF continues to respond to natural disasters whenever they occur and can provide support to communities in crisis, as seen during the COVID-19 pandemic. All emergency response and prevention operations fall under CAF’s Operation LENTUS.

Ps: Canada is far from being bankrupt , Canada own most of its public debts .
Yes inflation sucks….
