oh yeah haven't listened to podcast but fully agree with this

that's one of the craziest things about the great "we didn't know" con that we pulled off

he literally published a book outlining very specifically everything he would do and then did those exact things

Amusing, Putin did the same thing (yes, 57onRed I am aware it was assuredly ghost written by someone else). I was listening to some podcast by a Singapore diplomat where he said he carefully read Putin's manifesto on Russian history when it was released and his first thought was that he is definitely going to invade Ukraine at some point. Where there is no indication anyone in the Western world even noticed what Putin was clearly spelling out or what the implications were.

Nah, I find this entire "sheeple" attitude to other people tiring and bothersome. First of all, it is completely fine to not know something. The world is big and a lot happens in it, nobody is on top of everything. Secondly, people can surprise you, a lot people know a lot more than what they superficially show. Thirdly, arguments like this have less to do with assessing others

i took this less a sheeple thing but more of a people receive a packaged viewpoint and generally take it for granted - which is unequivocally true

you even agree with me that everything that was happening was wildly known but you see how multiple posters actually tried refuting it without even bothering to google it first to see for themselves

ignore the narratives as to why it happens and just focus on it does indeed happen

-Social media has added a wrinkle or two, but the rules of the game are still basically the same.

lol my pony is slow 😀

Despite my screen name, I certainly am not arguing I am completely above the fray.

“ we know trump says a lot of crazy thing but he isn’t serious “
And then we see trump with Groenland, Canada , etc ….
That kinda of narrative and logic maybe ?

100%

It's always been really easy to claim we're above it all and can easily see thru everything. The other side of it is--that's pretty much never actually true 😀

China isn’t an exemplary transparent country is it ?

No, it's a totalitarian Communist dictatorship. The funny thing is that the US, supposedly a democracy, incarcerates more people at any given time despite having less than a quarter of China's population, with a rate of 541 per 100,000 to China's 119.

Take out blacks and report back to me on your findings of the other 85% of Americans. America doesn’t have a general incarceration issue insomuch as it has a black incarceration issue.

The entire point of the American progressive justice reform movement is to address this. They figured the solution was just to selectively stop incarcerating blacks for criminal behavior. And it worked as well as one would expect.

Ironically, your country has very recently proposed (passed?) similar laws to create a two tier justice system, where specific populations are given more leniency.

We will see how well this works out in Britain.

I had no idea how to parse your username until now so thank you for that.

Take out blacks and report back to me on your findings of the other 85% of Americans. America doesn’t have a general incarceration issue insomuch as it has a black incarceration issue.

The black US population is only about 41 million, so the incarceration rate has serious implications for lawmaking (like the 'three strikes rule', which can see people handed life sentences for relatively minor offences like shoplifting or drug possession -- in California of all places, possession is enough to incur a life sentence under the three-strikes rule, but probably not if you're white) and for law enforcement (since, as former US Marshal Matthew Fogg has pointed out, drug busts are restricted to certain neighbourhoods because the judge doesn't want you busting his daughter or her friends, and if you propose expanding drug busts beyond certain neighbourhoods you'll find your department budget at risk.)

Ironically, your country has very recently proposed (passed?) similar laws to create a two tier justice system, where specific populations are given more leniency.

They aren't laws, they're guidelines published by the Sentencing Council which would require pre-sentencing reports (from doctors, for instance) for all convicted defendants from certain privileged 'minority' categories. This has unsurprisingly not gone down well. The Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood is against it, because it undermines the principle of equality before the law, and she says she'll pass an actual law to countermand it if the Sentencing Council doesn't back off.

It's always been really easy to claim we're above it all and can easily see thru everything. The other side of it is--that's pretty much never actually true 😀

that was not the claim, the claim was an insignificant minority know there's more going on, the rest try to argue against reality the mythos that we had no idea the holocaust was taking place because that's simply what they've heard so much

same as whenever i randomly bring up d-day as an example of how few casualties there are in war vs perceived reality, anyone who bothers to spend 30 seconds fact checking that would see i was not lying but you'll still get a few posters just jump in and talk about 50% casualties or some other made up stuff because they they've heard so much discussion over that over the years from a bunch of rubes who all use saving private ryan as their primary source

they could literally check the d-day wiki page and see what the casualty rate actually was but instead will be like "omg you're so dumb everyone died!"

same with how most people think medieval warfare was true to how it is filmed in movies like braveheart rather than carefully managed and tightly packed formations which would gingerly poke and prod at each other until one side lost their nerve and threw down their arms to flee - people like to live and act as such, they do not casually throw their lives away charging into a free for all but that looks cooler on film

saving private ryan d-day scene would have been very boring if it took 10 hours and 9.5 of the hours were them just waiting behind cover to move to the next piece of cover where 3 guys in their platoon of 20 get injured and one is killed but the rest make it to safely the bunkers which are long since abandoned because the 20 czech conscripts defending that stretch of beach saw the 500 americans were getting kinda close and noped out of there or surrendered instead of continuing to fight for an outcome they didn't care about

Right bc DDay was a joke compared to what the Russians went through and accomplished to beat the fascist genocidal Nazis.

The propaganda is not around the portrayal of war. The propaganda is that the American involvement in DDay was at all decisive or important to defeating the Nazis.

Right …comparing DDay with what Russian lost makes a lot of sense….
As in one lasted like couple months while the other couple years ?

Your like maga , comparing the entire blm riots with January 6 on the Capitol .

like just look at how not one but two different posters tried to use to semantics instead of facts to argue that the "we didn't know" mythos was genuine

they could have said "hey this flies against my understanding of it, perhaps i should take a peek at google and see what the truth is" but instead they opt not to and just post nonsense to repeat the lie because they heard of bunch of others say the same lie

raping Baltic and Polish women gets exhausting after a while yes

lots of people knew but didnt care. or they made money off of it like IBM and many Americans. genocide is very profitable.

by Luciom

ahh yes, the original mass rape hoax. well probably not the actual original. Im sure the Brits and the Colonial Americans used the same lies to support their mass murder of indigenous.

you have any sources on this being a hoax, all i've ever read is mass rape

From what I'm reading I surmise we can put you down for being one of the special few--anointed by none other than yourself lol. Where do you want your gold star? I'm leaning towards forehead 😀

And the post as he wrote it very much implies he's one of the special guys too--even though there are examples to the contrary just this week.

Today's big truth revealed to us--Hollywood movies aren't 1:1 portrayals of reality. My mind is Blown.

by rickroll

nope. I just know the West lied about the mass rape in Israel, in Iraq, in Libya, in Ukraine. see the pattern? remember all the articles about Gaddafi or Saddam or Putin giving their soldiers viagra so they could rape more?

ofc, I am not saying that a bunch of rape didnt happen during WW2. but I dont think it was to the extent we are told by Russia, and I certainly dont think it was any worse than what the American boys did all throughout Europe and the Pacific. American soldiers did a lot or rape! they still do around the military bases in Japan and Korea fwiw.

i am not sure if I understand Rick roll take but what I can say is that when Mussolini passed the racial laws (removing rights from Jews, excluding them from civil society and so on) it was 1938 and internationally and domestically there was no notion of Jews being mass murderered in Germany by the state.

ofc there was knowledge of violence by thugs which police didn't care about and stuff like that. But absolutely nothing about systemic state ordered and conducted mass killings.

because they simply hadn't happened yet.

right and the thing is to recognize this stuff so that another Holocaust doesnt happen. oh wait...

In Night, Elie Wiesel said that when the people in his village in Hungary got on the train in May 1944 there had been one person who was saying that they were going to death camps, but people didn't believe him.
