Personally, I don't support cutting off anything to the US. Our oil flows through the US and back into Canada to Sarnia. Cutting off electricity to US would be an invitation to intercept our oil.

That said, on the act of war, I am pretty sure Trump could rationalize .00005 units of whatever amount of fentanyl coming into the US from Canada as a threat to national security and the US would need to invade and occupy Canada to stop it.

But still, there is congress..

In the end the existence of Congress is what may save us from Trump.

Poilievre just objectively IS better at the sloganeering game. Carney obviously has a vast depth of detailed policy knowledge. This isn't the same skill as being able to communicate these technocratic ideas in short, easily digestible sound bites that can be understood and resonate with the average person. Like "everything is broken and it is all Trudeau's fault" isn't a deep idea, but it is one that can hook a certain type of person (cough lozen cough).

Still, I'd rather take a communication problem than an empty vacuum who is great at communication and shows zero sign after two years of any policy depth at all.
