It's possible I'm wrong about Ren "Tony" Lin as WSOP.com has at least three versions of him, but I tend to agree with Hendon that they're all the same (certainly, he isn't Swiss).

Which WSOP.com Addington error are you referring to? I'm pretty sure his name is spelled with an 'e' -- "Crandell" -- as both Hendon and Wikipedia list him, but you probably mean that he finished fourth not second in the 1976 WSOP Main Event (Jesse Alto was the famous runner-up).

I have him with 1 silver and 1 bronze as I don't count his unpaid Main Event runner-up finish in 1974.

Yes, I spotted the 1976 error for AC1 (Allen Cunningham shall be AC2 henceforth). He’s Crandall Addington in Biggest Game In Town.

I met a trust fund girl from Texas named Addington once, wonder if she’s related. Similar naming principle as Rooney Mara most likely.

Given how famous the Brunson-Alto final hand is (partly because of the 10-Deuce coincidence), I'd put this on my "Top 10 Errors on WSOP.com" list 😉.

Not the most accurate book on my shelf. Google is pretty adamant that it's an 'e', suggesting the correction. Also an 'e' in his
obituary and other reports of his passing last year.

I’ll go out on a limb and say his obituary is probably correct. It’s an easy name to transpose or misspell, especially if you’re a posh Brit hearing Texas accents for the first time.

I believe TJ is the only one with bracelets in three different Omaha variants.

Breaking down the Omaha into High only and Hi/Lo8Better seems worthwhile given how different the two variants are played.

Both Omaha High and Omaha High-Low, Eight-or-Better have been played often enough to merit looking at them separately (the previous post merged them). Omaha debuted as a high-only game at the 1983 WSOP, while the split version joined the rotation in 1990.

Mike Matusow is the king of Omaha 8. He is one of the players with one bracelet, leads in both final tables and cashes, and is tenth in winnings.

Seven-Card Stud was one of the original games played at the World Series of Poker and peaked in 1976 when three of the eight tournaments were Seven-Card Stud variants. The Ladies Championship was stud from 1977 to 1999.

Johnny Moss was the first player to amass four bracelets in 1981, with Artie Cobb following in 1998 and Men Nguyen joining them in 2010.

Among the 20 players with two stud bracelets are three women: Barbara Enright, Starla Brodie, Susie Isaacs. Enright and Isaacs both won the Ladies Championship twice, while Brodie won one Ladies title and one Mixed Doubles with Doyle Brunson in 1979, the one year the event was a stud contest.

Cobb, who leads three of the lists, and Nguyen, who leads the other one, are the only player on all four lists. Jeff Lisandro, John Monnette, and Ted Forrest (2 bracelets) are on three lists.

The first WSOP satellite I ever played was O8 in ‘96. I beat Jim Pechac headup, Frankie was third. Men was the last to sit down. I was so intimidated I got up to leave, but the security guard who’d shown me to the tournament area told me to sit tf back down.

No surprise to me that Mike bubbles to the top of PLO HI LO. People rag on him as total fish and sucking at poker. But HiLo PLO MTT was maybe is his forte. 15+ yrs ago he was the best easily. Can be comp,ete donkey, esp in NLHE cash, but not tournament HiLo PLO.

Happy 74/75th birthday, Bobby Baldwin! Not threadworthy, but turns out nobody knows his birthdate and he celebrates it on 4/1. MGM apparently did some proxy statements in 2006 that listed him as being 55. Pretty cool, I wonder who the most famous non-indigenous living people are with unknown or unclear birthdates.

No surprise that Phil Ivey has the most bracelets and final tables, but Jordan Siegel is the surprise cashes leader (at least to me). He's never reached a mixed final table, and his only 6-figure cash and 2nd-place finish was in PLO). Note: his WSOP.com player page (and the tournament page) say he finished 14th in the 2001 Ladies Championship for $1,030, but that's an error as that was actually Jo Ann Siegel.
