Good god, Retirement Advice Diesel is far and away the best Diesel.

Homeless unemployed breakeven pokerplayer for years living on below minimum wage and a loser in basically all areas in life is giving out early retirement advice with a smug grin and "know it all attitude" has to be up there with the most bizarre content ever being made in the pokerspace.

In today's video Skater Nomad checks out of his comped room at Sante Fe Station and heads to Los Angeles to avoid being rinsed by Vegas mechanics. He states Los Angeles has the best hybrid mechanics which will not rinse him. The mechanic apparently replaces a bad battery cell and then he puts the Prius for sale on Facebook Marketplace. He then drives to San Diego to do more

I fear this skater douche is not going to go away is he?

Concerning today's Rice video, what exactly will Rice be retiring from?
Don't you have to have some kind of job to retire from?
And last but not least, where exactly does a homeless person go when they retire?

It took 30 years, but someone finally modified and perfected Bill Bengen's 4% rule. great work, Diesel! I wonder if 30 years from now, someone lazier, more frugal, more disassociated from reality, and with less money will come up with the 2% rule?

In less than 21 minutes, Rice shows that retiring at 35 with half a million and no other future income is probably a bad idea. Financial planners around the world are amazed!

I was about to comment that it had been like 3 days since a Rice recap, maybe moving on? but alas

was thinking about his landmark video reporting he was allegedly standing at the border of 3 states. you ever look at a map? there are like 100 of those spots in the US

Yes but this was a POKER PLAYER stands in 3 states at once, not just some random person. Amazing stuff.

Actually, there are only 57 such points so you are wrong and it makes Rice's feat even more amazing.

oh snap you caught me

ELD is is heavy snow which requires him to shovel same while formulating a retirement plan.

Might I suggest to change the Nomadic method to require direct travel to a warmer climate in Las Vegas during the Winter Season and to travel to New York instead during the summer and avoid the Midwest during snow storms.

Since ELD has Diamond tier it is cheaper for him to stay in Las Vegas during the Winter.

That would mean no dealing the summer series at the Orleans and he’d lose 98% of his yearly income.

Sprkli Sweets has rebranded to Old School Candy Kitchen.

Sounds like a recipient of a cease and desist letter.

40+ years in retirement with a very high chance of negative sequential returns = Hello I'm Rice, welcome to Walmart.

by Langdon

oh snap you caught me

Nope, you could do it facing E, W, S, or N.

Sounds like a recipient of a cease and desist letter.

I heard boski trademarked the name just for the shts and giggles.

Other than dealing the first thing Diesel needs to do once back in Vegas is seek out the omc that cracked his aces and get revenge for the Red River Rinse. It would make for a great vlog.

But what if that OMC cracks them again?

by borg23

But what if that OMC cracks them again?

No set, no bet. Diesel has learned his lesson.

Turdzilla is on fire

But he can flop a set of aces and OMC flops Broadway!

Or even better top boat vs quads.

Imagine the meltdown.

Well crap, now Ima hafta watch it. And it's 20 minutes long.

Holy crap, that was pretty awful. He sure was proud of figuring out that the actual design of the 4% rule turned out to be the same as what he eventually devined. It did have the value of illustrating how dumb it is to put your money into mutual funds.

Using the S&P 500 is lazy and unimaginative, but it does seem to work longterm. The problem is that mutual funds are not optionable. Use an etf like SPY or SPX instead. A covered call 1 year out pays about 7%. That's a very lazy way to do it. You make a lot more money by selling the calls monthly or weekly or even daily. Selling dailies yields quite a bit more over a year's time than just selling a single yearly. But the real reason you want to do that is to keep your strike prices above the etf so that you don't have to sell any shares. That's right, done correctly you can make your 4%, or more, and not have to sell any of your shares.

Here's the best part - you can also sell covered calls all through the accumulation phase of your retirement saving. You get your S&P 500 growth, plus your covered call income. Do it in a Roth and you pay zero in taxes. You don't have to pay any taxes until you retire, and then it's just on the 4% (or whatever) that you withdraw for living expenses.

If you have a big chunk of stock, or money, don't sell any of it. Write covered calls on it. Elon probably makes millions per week on just selling calls on his stock because he's a smart guy. How much stock does he have? Prob over 300 billion? TSLA calls pay about 4% per WEEK, 12 billion every week for doing nothing more than a few mouse clicks. The only time he needs to sell any is for a big expense, like buying Twitter. Even then, if he planned ahead he could have collected 48 billion or so in a month.

ELD should use his dividend fund to buy a fiveplex apartment building in North Las Vegas. Then rent the five plex out which will give income for about $1500 times five a month for $7500 in rents. ELD can then live at Harrahs or sleep in the shed or parking lot of the fiveplex on weekends (since ELD as the mortgage holder will be the on site maintenance and manager of the building) and then get guaranteed $7500 in rents per month.
