The "LOLCANADA" thread...again

So what's new?

I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet

Read the whole sentence: "On the public service".

But this is the least important detail from the post. You can hate the Trudeau era liberals if you wish for growing the size of the public service even if they tried to clamp down at the end. But the point is that the Carney era liberals are signaling a pretty wide departure from that approach and actually are advocating a vision pretty closely aligned to with what you yourself have advocated for over the years.

You should listen to them.

It all sounds great its basically what Pierre is saying . So I am to trust a party that lied to me in the past and now has a a new mandate. Sorry fool me once ......

I think the difference - at least in messaging - between the Poilievre and Carney on this idea of reducing bloat and inefficiency in government, is contrasting a more slash and burn approach and one that is more focused on nuance and making smart, targeted investments that grow the economy.

Carney has already so clearly signalled huge shifts from the Trudeau era and everything about him is so radically different in his approach and focuses that I think a sort of "fool me twice" doesn't make sense. It's not the same guy. You can be mad at Trudeau to your grave if you wish.

Video from the Apprentice? How old is that . Now if he said that today .
Consult your doc for TDS

There was many suspicions stories about diddy for over 2 decades .
And as usual , when it comes to judging character , trump fails miserably.

Well when it’s about sex Or money , great minds think alike -> trump and diddy perfect match .
and see how the girl respond lol ….she obviously knew what kind of pos diddy was .
Yes like all the others Weinstein etc…

But the difference when u compare and Clinton and others with trump (which we all know u never take Into consideration context ) , is that trump has an habits of making poor choices about individuals and been mixed with many different kind of criminal activities …

Anyway the point was about friendship with bad people and how incredibly acurate , with insight , how perfect representation of the future this clips nailed it .

Now, Trump signalled that the pause will be lifted despite meaningful improvement at the border with the number of migrants apprehended and the quantity of drugs seized plummeting.

Trump has also threatened additional 25 per cent tariffs for certain industries, including steel, aluminum and auto imports. The White House has previously said those tariffs will be stacked on top of the 25 per cent tariff on Canada.

In an interview with CBC News last week, Kirsten Hillman, Canada's ambassador to the U.S., said illegal migration from Canada into the U.S. has declined by some 90 per cent in recent months.

With more money and resources, Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officials have been seizing drugs at the border, including fentanyl.

Even before these new efforts, Canada represented less than one per cent of all seized fentanyl imports into the U.S., according to federal data.

It's almost like it was never about fentanyl and always about completely ****ing over Canada because he could.

Of course it was bs .
It was the only legal way to put tariffs on , using bs ghost national security issues .

Reality is I am voting Conservative as my life gets better with Pierre in office

Why were they all doing 2 standing ovations to a known uber Nazi?
Justin and Polievere did it too.

Your country is under attack. Again. People's jobs and prosperity are deeply threatened. Again.

By your idol.

Show some ****ing humility.

This little game of snark where you take me saying the 155B countertarriff package did a good job of "threading the needle" between being harmful to the US without destroying Canada in the process and use that as some sort of empty attack point when your guy threatens your country with economic war is just weird. As elated as I was a month ago when Trump backed down in the face of Trudeau's bravery, I said clearly at the time we DON"T know that this is the end and it has always been very plausible that Trump DOES re-up the threat again a month later, as he appears to now have. Shame on him. And his supporters.

The carbon tax is cancelled for both. That was your old excuse. As is capital gains extension. So can you list three specific, quotable, defined policies that Poilievre has articulated that you think will make your life better in a way different from Carney? I'll give you one for free. You think that cancelling housing accelerator fund (losing billions in targetted housing investments) in replace for broad brush GST cuts of similar value helps you. Meh. Can you list policies 2 and 3?

You can't say both "it's basically what Poilievre is doing" as if the two are very equal and then suggest your life gets better with only one.

by Shifty86

Too story on CBC right now.

https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.6...

Insane people.

Why is it insane? Trump not only suggested that Canada would become the 51st State, he suggested that Gretzky could be the Governor. If I was in Gretzky's position of exposure, fame and influence I would simply say that "Canada is proud and independent country and a good ally to the US and that I share the Prime Minister's stance that Canada will remain an independent country."

Not too much ask from a Canadian national hero. The fact that he can't get those words out of his mouth is pathetic to me.

It is not like he is being asked to make a difficult or controversial statement.

because he's not a known uber nazi digging later found some stuff that he was nazi affiliated because Ukraine fought with Germany against Russia. I've met him in real life 😀

Spare me, you never once mentioned or cared about people's job and prosperity during COVID or when the federal government attacked the an industry you don't like.

I'm a grown man, I don't idolize anyone. But Trump is doing great things for his country.

Show some ****ing humility.

Game of snark, this is the internet bud. Haven't you seen someone be condescending before?

Ya Trudeau was real brave. It was obvious he channeled his inner William Wallace and put the flag on his back for that great battle.

Maybe he doesn't agree, maybe his wife and kids are American and he doesn't want to get involved in politics. Who cares, he's the greatest hockey player to ever play and has done more for Canada than any of the dorks who are upset about this.

oops carney pledges gst cut on new homes as well. Ok now you need three policies

So what your saying is you do not want me to vote for the person that has been committed to cut the carbon tax and GST on new homes but instead vote for the guy that for all his career has supported the liberal policy of a carbon tax and wants to go further ?
As for the Housing accelerator fund it will not make more affordable housing it will just subsidize more housing . There is a great piece from CBC of all the condos being built in Toronto that are not affordable and many walking away from

As well Carney pledges to remove the personal part of the carbon tax but he plans to make that up with more rigorous carbon taxes on the commercial side targeting Alberta and Sask oil industries . He has also floated the idea of a tariff on goods from countries that do not have strong climate plans . The worst countries being the USA, China and India which will drive up costs to consumers .

Are you aware that China and India have special deals that do not require them to hit goals till 2060 and 2070 . The biggest concern should be India as they grow and their coal consumption rivals that of China

So Ill take the candidate that has pledged from the start to

  • Axe the tax
  • remove the GST on New homes under 1 million
  • Slash government waste public service which has grown by 40 % under Trudeau
  • Increase the sentences for gun crimes
Broken YouTube Link

So who knows if the Trump Tariffs are coming back.

I was thinking yes the government should apply possibly some tariffs on goods we just can buy CDN but items like OJ we really have no other source.
Instead i think the government should add 15% to all energy exports including oil and power. They just cant not import those items. As well I would tax all US coal going through CDN ports
I would also tax all mineral exports

Reality all those US tariffs will hurt the US folks let them sink in

by MoViN.tArGeT

uke why do you think the liberals are canceling the carbon tax? Even I don't think its that bad and you and them clearly think its good.

For precisely the reason they say. Namely, the carbon tax - rightly or wrongly - is just too politically divisive. Canadians are clearly against it now. I don't think the Liberals could win an election with it, so for that reason the leaders decided to drop it and remain politically viable. Carney and Freeland and I all absolutely still think it is good policy. It's a shame we are were we are politically and one can dive into why that might be, but it is a reality.
