Pocket 10's against some large stacks
9 handed 2/5$
Hero 1020$ eff
Hero is new to the table maybe 3rd orbit no real reads yet only played a few hands.
MAWG no read in SB (V1) eff 1700$
Splashy loose aggro older mixed guy in HJ (V2) eff 2800$ .
Table has been straddling every hand and I just don't want to be involved in stupidly straddling so they're kind of annoyed at me for it.
Hero picks up pocket 10♥️ 10 ♠️
straddle is on for 15$
Hero UTG raises to 35$
folds to HJ calls, folds to SB calls BB calls UTG folds
Flop 4♥️4♦️ Q♠️ (Pot 155$)
SB (V1) x, BB (V3) x, Hero raises 75$, HJ (V2) calls SB (V1) calls BB (V3) fold
Turn 8 ♥️ (Pot $380)
SB (V1) x, Hero 135$, HJ (V2) folds, SB (V1) snap calls
I have absolutely no read on this guy but this has to be trouble right he has at least a Queen even a weak one or maybe a 4? I mean do I even have any bluffs here what is he calling down with?
River K ♠️ (Pot $650)
SB x, Hero?

Preflop just go 3x the straddle as standard.
Flop you're 4way here and OOP to 1 players. When multiway you want to tighten up your equity requirements (how strong you hand is) by a lot.
So here your TT isn't even close enough to cbet. You realistically don't get called by worse hands often at all and there are plenty of Qx and even 4x out there.
So good thing to focus on moving forward is to play much tighter in multiway pots with value hands
Turn same idea, you're still 3 way here. The bottom of your value betting range should be good Qx+..like KQ minimum.
Your bet doesn't accomplish anything here. You're just trying to see a cheap showdown at this point and hope you're good.
River the only reason to be betting is to try to bluff him off a Q. So you need to decide if you want to do this, but you should never be in this spot with hand like yours. You should either have air here, or good Qx+ making your decision much easier.
Can you elaborate as to why its better to bluff with air as opposed to a mediocre value hand like this
Check every street, you want to be more polarized when betting.

TT isn't betting on the flop to get called by worse. TT bets small here in order to try to get Bdwy cards to fold...although the OP's chunky 1/2 pot bet is too large.
betting TT here 4 way with one guy being IP isn't a thing at all imo.
So we bet small to get KJ, AJ, AT, KT specifically to fold? If those hands have a BDFD they will probably peel anyways.
I don't see any need to bloat a pot with a middling value hand 4 way.
It's a pretty leak imo
Spoiler
I ended up checking the river, I just knew I can't be good here and boy was he upset that I didn't run another barrel he turns over pocket QQ, thank god that river wasn't a 10. @CondemnedAracari you wouldn't have even bet out on the flop in this situation?
Hand is fine. I check behind on river. We are probably losing to something ridiculous like Q9, which is never folding, but we have showdown value.
Edit: Just read spoiler. LOL. Ugh.
Yeah... tricky bastard thank you restraint button!
against 2 callers, generally best to x the turn; Hero is against a better hand most of the time
Preflop is too small unless it's the standard open size - it screams "I'm not comfortable with the stakes" and for this sizing you should be opening wide, which presumably you're not. You're going to get called a lot and bullied. Find a different table or somewhere else to play if the straddle makes you uncomfortable. Go with the normal open size or if it varies, I'd make it 50 or so.
Flop go small, checking is also fine 4 way.
What was your intention with the turn bet? Feels like a bet without a purpose; and if you're betting without purpose then it's probably not a good bet.
River the main thing you need to do is make a note that your opponent didn't squeeze with QQ and then played passively throughout with the nuts.
it was the table standard open size anything bigger screams big hand.
Grunch:
PRE - raise bigger over the $15 straddle.
FLOP - think I might c-bet a tad larger here.
My reasoning is that we're unlikely to get raised, but if our opponents are angry that we're not straddling, it's somewhat likely we'll get called, and our hand benefits from some protection.
Any flush draws on board? Are the suits relevant in any way, on any street?
TURN - don't mind the smallish barrel here, once we get two callers on the flop, but I might just check and see if the HJ bets or SB leads river. Seems like one or both are likely to have a Q. If they floated with 88, they filled up, and could be looking to raise. SB could have some 4x here, when we open for such a small size pre.
RIVER - hard to see what worse hands call a bet. Maybe just 99/77? Then again, maybe we can fold out weak Qx with a chunky bet. Or, we get snapped off by KQ or 4x.
I dunno. I don't really love betting any size, but don't love checking back either. Seems like we'd be merge betting, not really sure if we're going for value or bluffing. I sort of think we either need to go really small for thin value, or really big to fold out Qx. Of the two choices, I prefer going small, like 10% pot, and just fold if he raises.
But checking back is also fine. It'll suck if V turns over a better hand that may have folded to a chunky bet, or a worse hand that would have called a small bet, but that's just part of the game.
Glad you didn't read the spoiler pretty close to how I was thinking the whole time.
These aren't that large stacks. You are short stacked. 1, 700 is just over. 100 straddles and 2.8k is just under 200. And honestly if everyone is straddling except you, the game is probably too big for you.
You are monkey betting flop and turn. You are 4 ways, you have no reason to bet any underpair, especially for half pot.
Why ask if you have bluffs? TT is not a bluff. You're just overvaluing TT. What is he calling you down with? Probably a Q, maybe a trapped 4 or 88.
It is okay to just check the flop and accept that at some point you may face a large bet and you may have to fold because you don't have the best hand. Some hands you are not meant to win.
Focus on checking or betting small on flop witb Qx+. You might start barreling flop with a hand like AK (2 overs), JT, T9, J9, KJ, 65s, 76s, that have ways of improving to a straight draw on the turn, especially if you have a backdoor flush draw. You want to choose a flop size that caps villains when they call which allows you to polarize by betting large on certain turns and rivers. Don't bet such a middling hand like TT on Q44 this multiway.
Maybe right about that the game was too big but it was only my second time at 2/5$ so it does always feel bigger. Either way left more then doubling up so happy me 😀
