There are extremely obvious disingenuous motives to do this.

Do you honestly believe the majority of Hamas members make the fine distinctions between Israelis, Zionists and Jews that Victor projects?

I don't really know, but if you did a survey I would guess that the typical Hamas member hates Jews. It's also my personal experience that more than half of Israeli Jews hate Arabs.

I’ll unban him if the Ip check exonerates him, but considering Mets is now contacting me on social media (entirely inappropriate), I’m gonna be on the edge a bit.

it def could be him. I didnt think too much who it was at first. now that I think about, there are 2 other candidates in my mind. I guess I rate them all equal.

Alright, Ip check says it wasn’t Mets, it was another previously banned user. Correction on record.

As a general rule, just for those following, DO NOT contact me off site. That is extremely weird and not appropriate.

Does metsandfinsfan still play poker? Because my initial interaction with Norm was in the Internet Poker forum, in a thread about Ignition Poker.

Phresh or BetRaiseFold are my guesses

This is all cope. Hamas only real leverage is liberal tears and Arab oil. With a couple thousand troops Israel could go in, frog march everyone out of the city to refugee camps in the desert, siege anyone who stayed behind until they surrendered or died of hunger/thirst, and that would be that. No more Hamas.

No, they can't, because world opinion and US foreign relations are real, important dimensions to the conflict (ones that the Gazans harness in their overall strategy, and ones that Israel constantly takes the bait on).

The US has bigger fish to fry with China, and is competing with them for global sphere of influence. Having the entire third world against you (while sowing internal conflict) is a great way to give your #1 rival a massive edge.

Good guess

Unsolicited angry PMs is already a pretty crazy invasion. Contacting people off the site to argue is way off the charts. I've only heard of that happening a few times and with really insane people like that Saffron Chicken guy.

ya thats real bad

Anyway, I apologize for the derail. I’m a bit on edge.

This is why nobody is going to ever unban him, btw. What an idiot.

Fair, but how come Kelhus gets to come back from multiple permabans and spew his Nazi bullshit?

Well yeah. That is my point. Hamas themselves are pretty impotent, except as local thugs, and rely mostly on geopolitical leverage.

But yeah. It appears the world has decided to cut off its nose to spite its face and is turning towards china.

I expect the world, especially the developing world, to get a lot more bloody as a direct result. We are already seeing this with all the coups and atrocities that are becoming more and more common in Africa as a result.

I think you should show your work on this.

The most deadly conflicts in Africa:

Conquests of Menalik II, 1878-1904, 6 million
Second Congo War, 1998-2003, 5.25 million
Nigerian Civil War, 1967-1970, 3-4 million
Ethiopian Civil war, 1961-1991, 2 million
Second Sudanese Civil War, 1983-2005, 1-2 million
Algerian War, 1954-1962, .4-1.2 million
French conquest of Algeria, 1830-1903, 1-1.5 million
Mozambican Civil War, 1977-1992, .5-1 million
First Sudanese Civil War, 1955-1972, .5-1 million
Burundian Civil War...

Ok, I'm getting tired of this. You have to go down quite a ways to get anything less than 10 years old.

Hm, let’s see if we can figure it out. Account created 2 days after his main one was banned, uses ALLCAPS for the EMPHASIS, verbally attacks people and tells them they suck, a heavy focus on Victor, and generally being not that ****ing smart.

Gosh, it’s a mystery!

I actually don't know who that would imply, lol. But I grunch a lot on here.

Ah, my pony is slow. I didn't even know Mets was banned again tbh.

You still have to give the Gazan militants some a good bit of credit militarily. It's no cakewalk to prevent one of the most well-funded militaries in the world from eradicating you after decades of blockades, even if they can't use a full-blown siege. There's a lot of intelligence that goes into the preparations and overall meta strategy.

Israel should take some notes. The US can be forgiven for being goaded into a quagmire after 9/11, as asymmetric warfare wasn't fully understood at that point, but the post-10/7 Israelis already had the post-9/11 US as an example of the long-term effects of attempting to get revenge in unwinnable situations.

I don’t know, that decision occurred before my arrival

None of the previous mods have ever explained this either. I've assumed he has incriminating photos of Sklansky or whatever.

I am not super keen on all the players and all their alts. My understanding is that Kelhus was Thremp and Thremp has essentially been contained to health and fitness and I think his alts still occasionally catch bans even being contained to H&F

If Dunyain = Kelhus then I'd be pretty clueless though it seems Dunyain has managed to find a way to post within the lines

Dun is not Thremp

It's fine. Racist trolls getting special privileges to break sitewide rules is just part of the charm of this place. It's like DEI for stupid people.

Do we really have to go through this every time we get a new mod?

trolly, you can just post on UP where any pushback on the Dems or USA is met with a ban. its fine. you won.

I predict trump is gonna try to give Gaza to Thiel and the gang for one of their projects.
