Crossnerd, given the constant violent rhetoric from a guy who lives in a 94% homogenous country and his repeatedly expressed hatred of US immigrants, “racial and anti immigrant fervor” was pretty pulled back.

On the rest of it, I hear ya.

I think Luciom would make a good POTUS. He wouldn't mess about.

by Luciom

I have no racial or anti immigrant fervor…..I am an elitist…..

Luciom lying to literally and figuratively polish a turd.

My other source had it 2% higher and Luciom wants it higher like Japan.:

Nearly 92.0% of Italy’s population is Italians making it the largest ethnic group in the country. Native groups in the Italian Peninsula were the Etruscans while groups such as Greeks, Germans, Jews, Romans and Celts occupied the Peninsula in medieval times. Descendants of the indigenous groups and the settlers make up the modern-day Italians. In the Southern part of Italy, Greek-Italians and Albanian-Italians are found while the North part is dominated by the French-Italians, Slovene-Italians, and German-Italians. Of all the occupations in the Italian Peninsula, the Romans influenced the culture of Italians the most. With time, different provinces of Italians developed their culture and dialects, a diversity which is still evident in the modern day Italy. Most Italians profess to the Roman Catholic religion while a small number profess to Judaism or Protestantism or migratory Islam.

Meh. Your conception of "homogenous" seems real bad in this case. Most people would understand that a requirement for a population to be homogenous is that it actually identifies as such, which would make Italy a horrible example for the reasons Lucium articulated very well.

Even your "ethnic Italian" argument seems very contrived; as the article acknowledges the Italian ethnicity itself is comprised over a very heterogenous mix that is more or less arbitrarily labelled as a singular ethnicity.

Zimbabwe nowadays is measurably at the bottom of the list of countries in the world for every variable we use to determine how succesful a country is.

More nonsense.

I'll tell you what it is, it's anti Italian discrimination.

Yes. Yes you are.

Oh it happened and I just helpfully provided links highlighting it happening.

So you dislike Carter cuz he didn't go far enough?

East Timor wasn't the communist problem as report d by your article itself.

The hundreds of thousands of communists assassinated by Suharto were on the main islands, and it happened well before Carter was around.

Even with inflation btw 30 millions/year is a sad joke

If Italian is an ethnicity then american is. "American" as a label literal is older than Italian (approx 1 century older).

And it isnt an ethnic label and only very low IQ people would think of it as such

What Yoh can take from this is that your source is utter trash. Either completely uninformed people, or bad faith people who want to spread objective lies.

"Ethnic Italians" don't exist outside of american classification for immigration.

But even Americans on Ellis Island properly treated Italians differently depending on where they were from , from Italy.

Luciom doesn't want it "higher than Japan".

Luciom is trying to tell you that you need to be fully ignorant of everything that describes an ethnicity to consider a Sicilian and me part of the same ethnicity.

If our recent ancestors did t have the same culture we aren't the same ethnicity ffs.

Their women walked behind men in the street

Luciom finally ascending to god complex and talking about him at the third person.

……

This event should help people realize that even legal immigration should be kept at the bare possible minimum.

With 0 as the hope, and any amount you let in only with absurdly strict filters and only when absolutely indispensable for the survival of the country. Kinda like Japan does it.

I don’t take your ideas very seriously, I do believe your words reflect your ideas and ideals.

Japan has 2.2% immigrant residence. Lower in Japan is better, correct?

by Luciom

East Timor wasn't the communist problem as report d by your article itself.

Indonesia invaded EastTimor, citing Fretilin as an excuse.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fretilin

Fretilin's ideology:

Ideology
Social democracy
Democratic socialism
Left-wing nationalism
Historical:
Marxism-Leninism

So how come you don't admire Carter for his support for Suharto, scourge of Marxist Leninists everywhere?

The hundreds of thousands of communists assassinated by Suharto were on the main islands, and it happened well before Carter was around.

And military aid to Suharto accelerated under Carter's presidency, while his regime was very much slaughtering East Timorese, don't forget that bit.

Even with inflation btw 30 millions/year is a sad joke

Did I just see a goalpost getting moved past me there? 😀 Point being Carter supported Suharto, so why not admire him?

I think Luciom’s posts general reflect a sophomoric view that the majority should always control and the minority interest should not be heard from or receive any special benefits from society. Very homogeneous populations, like Japan and Italy have underdeveloped laws protecting minorities as a result. The almost non existing concept of employment discrimination based on race or nationality being a prime example.

I would be very fine with 30% foreign born if they were all rightwing people with IQ 120+, is that enough for you to understand my position?

I want rightwing people (the only people I consider decent to be part of a community) and as smart as they come.

Give me all Nigerian libertarians right now, and all libertarians from any country which have far higher than normal IQ. That's the perfect country.

Filipinos, Hungarians, mongolians, somalis, Brazilians and so on and on, just the smartest and only those who consider government your enemy and never your friend
