bluff vs nit

bluff vs nit

I took forever to decide call or fold on the flop, maybe 40s timebank used.

In game I thought the bluff was "mandatory", do you agree?

€0.10 NL FAST (6 max)

BTN: 148.4 BB
SB: 78.2 BB (VPIP: 19.34, PFR: 12.74, 3Bet Preflop: 7.69, Hands: 216)
BB: 179.6 BB
UTG: 192 BB
MP: 154.4 BB
Hero (CO): 124.9 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 5 Q

fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, fold, SB calls 2 BB, fold

Flop: (6 BB, 2 players) J 8 T
SB bets 5.7 BB, Hero calls 5.7 BB

Turn: (17.4 BB, 2 players) K
SB checks, Hero bets 11 BB, SB calls 11 BB

River: (39.4 BB, 2 players) 3
SB checks, Hero bets 105.7 BB and is all-in

Yeah.

Fold on the flop.

Nice bluff on the river, but I think a small overbet would have sufficed.

Disagree with river bluff against an opponent that has seen you play for an hour or more. If you willingly raise this hand and believe a bluff here is "mandatory" your stats will convince a thinking opponent to call very light.

Tighter player who donks pot on draw heavy board is a fold on the flop. Yeah it is annoying but you have so many better hands here that he's giving you his money when he does this.

Fold on the flop.

is a fold on the flop

It seems I should... fold flop ? OK, I agree! In game I hesitated for a very long time and finally thought "backdoor flush, backdoor straight, let's give it a try".

Thanks. Note villain is a bit short, it's actually a 1.5x pot bet.

I don't know about the bluff, but Q5s is a mixed opening in my charts and I have rather nitty preflop stats (20/19 or something like that)
