So the decision was made to check out and just get to the airport. Good thing we did. Took 2 hours and 10 minutes to get through security.

I seemed to have contracted the Vegas poker room disease of the year in the lay 48 hours. When I woke up yesterday I was feeling “off”. Had the usual dry sore throat that usually kicks in around day 3, so that wasn’t a big deal.

Got home around 10pm lat night, took a pile of vitamins c, D and zinc and headed off to bed to try and sleep this off. Been mostly sweating and sleeping since.

So 0/1 in tournaments again. Limit O8 tournaments are death by a million cuts if you can’t scoop a pot.

Cash games were good pretty much everywhere. The only truly miserable game I was in was at Bellagio. Winning 6 out of 9 sessions and getting a high hand bonus was a nice add-on.

The Amazon tech bros were everywhere and made the games good. Cowboys were basically nowhere to be found at the tables.

Every casino was warmer than normal. Might just be a weird time of year with temps outside in the 40s at night and in the 60s during the day, but once you were indoors it always felt MUCH warmer.

We profited about $1,500 for the trip which was fantastic when all was said and done.

More to come in a few days once I’m feeling a little less dead than I do right now. Was a great trip all around.

glad you had a good time and thanks for making the trip report. sorry to hear you got sick but happens most of the time

Glad you came back in profit. Sorry to hear you picked up the poker room bug. I got it also when I got back. Sore throat and non stop coughing, a week on and I am still feeling off (not covid though as I did test twice)

I came back with a cough and runny nose, but nothing serious. I also noticed the warmer casinos -- I loved it 😉

I have a cough, runny nose, and sore throat and haven't really left my house since Thanksgiving. It's everywhere. Damned neices and nephews.

As I mentioned, when I got home, I bombed tons of vitamins C & D into me. Started feeling human yesterday and today - decent. I think the temperature fluctuations and the amount of walking I did (sweating when walking indoors, especially at the blast furnace with the name Venetian on the outside) was certainly a factor. Will also plan to vitamin bomb during the trip so that we try to keep it at bay. Obviously lack of rest will always be an issue, but there's not a ton you can do about that.

Mrs Breeze came down with it yesterday.

Going through my notes yesterday - didn't think I ran particularly hot, as I didn't flop a set in NL until we got to MGM (hello 4444!) but I had quads 4 times on this trip - 2 in that PLO session and 1 at MGM, and one at Aria in my last session. Lost count of how many pairs I'd tried to set mine with and missed before that.

I love DBBP's on dealer changes. They're great for shaking/waking up a table. I hope Venetian keeps them. They'll never be in my home casino though.

Guess the algorithm picked up my play on this go around... looked at potential options for next trip (buddy says March, I'm wondering about WSOP in June, WPT in December), there's a lot of properties willing to comp me for 3-5+ nights. Only 3 full days and we racked up 1,600 tier points is all it takes apparently. 😀

Next trip will have a better view than my Flamingo room did... that's for sure.

Horseshoe also has Circuit in the spring.

When I played at Venetian the stupid bomb pot thing only went about 10% of the time. They only played it if half the table agreed. We didn't, much.

Played my first bomb pots a couple weekends ago at a home game. This was dealer's choice of three (?) games.

Had a nice scoop for a significant portion of my winnings in a Omaha BP. Pretty sure I don't understand the strategy, but it was a fun diversion.

If you get the right players at the table to scoop or get scooped, it can make a game amazing in seconds.

And yes at Venetian, half the table has to agree. Had zero issues getting the under 75 demographic to agree.
And for $6? It’s a small price to pay if it makes your game awesome.

I honestly don't understand PLO players who won't play a $10 or $20 bomb pot, especially double-board. You pay that to see a flop, anyway, and if you are any good you just fold (as you normally would) or win at least half. I guess I understand if you are bad at PLO 😉

At the Venetian, they were doing them at the NO LIMIT tables. I basically hate any form of omahahaha. I sure as well don't want to be forced into playing it with involuntary pip.

at Bellagio they had to be the same game. so bomb pot for the 2/5 game had to be holdem

I hate Hold'em bomb pots

Once you play PLO bomb pots, Hold'Em bomb pots seem hella lame.

Yeah... for $6 pre. Good news is that they're optional. But it does make it easy to find out who the nits are.

All they have to do is ask me and I'll tell them.

But until my year-long cold streak ends I'll look like a nit no matter what.
