Aria 5/5/10 "Optional Straddle" is it optional or not?
I played at Aria the pat 3 week and a few of the tables were OK with an optional straddle. I had planned to play 5 5 10
i mostly played in this game on my last trip and the basic answer is, it's optional but the regs will give you hell for it.
compared to most of the 5/5 or 5/10 games i have played in TX, or even on the east coast, i didn't think the Aria game was very good tbh. it has a lot of euro pros and vegas regs who know each other, and also who are more tuned in to the dynamics of a rock game (as someone noted above, the straddle impacts you very differently depending on who's on your right). the rec players who you are looking for in this game are getting chopped up really quickly and there are long periods where the game is pretty blah while you wait for another one to show up.
That's fair, and you are completely correct. I guess it just doesn't bother me, so I'm not going to be the one to speak up and cause a scene. Keeping peace at the table is important to me. Maybe the dealers/brush should just do their jobs -- however, I think they feel the same, especially the dealers. Don't rock the boat -- and don't piss off the regulars -- if nobody else seem
one thing def. is clear to me now:
if you were from europe, it would be switzerland ;-)

+1, more often than not, it's not a good game
(on top of all the other stuff that's going on in there)
I usually stick to the basic 1/2/5 because you get more recs/tourists -- although there are still a lot of Vegas regs in those games, so you have to pick the right table. Thank goodness some of the regs never seem to learn how to play 😉
There are a couple of regs in the bigger game who make it worth playing, though, but I agree it's usually not fun and not a great game.
