1/3 NL maniac straddles $100 every hand
an interesting situation happened last night where one player sits down, plays pretty aggro and builds and a huge stack
This is a $1/$3 game it’s just about the smallest game you’re going to find and it’s just about the best game you’re going to find at the smallest stakes. If it’s too big for you then stop worrying about poker strategy and get a real job. The game is not magically a $100 big blind game that only high rollers can play. It’s a $1/$3 game where someone is putting $100 into the po
Almost certainly the people who don't want to play this kind of game already have a "real job". They play poker for fun, and this kind of poker isn't fun for them.
If someone plays poker for profit, and especially if they play for a living, this game is a great opportunity and obviously they should stay.

I suppose it’s a different type of autism from the asperger pro who says nothing while playing lines they learned through rote memorization with PIOsolver, and a better type, but leaving the game because someone is betting too much every hand and “that’s not poker” is still something I’m going to laugh at.
Honestly I think it wouldn't be much fun for me either, but the potential for profit would be enough to keep me there until I had a pretty big stack.
I think people are missing the point. Lets say you get this range 2 hands in a row and V is obligated to call w/o looking at his cards. You are obligated to play both hands.Your shove range is 3-1 favorite. You start with 1500bb. He starts with 5000bb. There is a 46% chance you go bust before you can catch up to his stack. If you start with 500b, there is a 60% chance. If
The flaw in your logic is that you arent considering the odds of turning a 500 bb bankroll into 5000 without going busto in the regular course of poker, which is almost certainly even worse odds. Youre eating the inevitable variance of poker faster as far as real time or number of poker hands, but over the course of time youll end up with the exact same issue trying to go from 500-> 5000. Or AT MINIMUM youll run into the same problem going from 500-> 10000.
