Israel has proactively been "cleansing the land" of Arabs for 75 years. it is a defining feature of Zionism.

Yes, he has no idea what he's talking about.

Aggression is often characterised as proactive and reactive. Proactive aggression tends to be pre-planned, goal-directed and characterised by low emotional activation. Hamas attack on 10/7 could be characterised as proactive, as could Russia's on Ukraine. It also is more or less specific to humans.Reactive aggression is the more evolutionary ancient strategy that is characteris

It was reactive in the sense that Israel reacted to Oct 07. Their methodology can be and has been subject to critique. But it's still reactive. On the world stage, aggression is proactive. Hamas proactively decided to break a ceasefire and murder over a thousand people. Israel reacted. They aren't to blame in this current exchange, even if their methods can be subject to critique.

Yes, but at some stage a reaction can become an over-reaction. Just because Hamas committed something truly horrific on 7/10 does not give Israel carte blanche to do what they want in response, and there are undoubtedly some in their war cabinet that would go much further than they have done thus far.

As I said, their methods can be critiqued especially considering the humanitarian cost, and can be supported without being blindly supported. We essentially agree with each other in this regard. My point was that they didn't actually kick off this current round and they're fighting an enemy that launches attacks from civilian heavily populated areas and that needs to be recognised also, even if nobody wishes to or likes seeing civilians being killed. They need to try and keep civilian casualties as minimal as possible. But Hamas knew they'd get a response and don't care about their own people. I'm very bemused why they'd be viewed with sympathy by some factions of the far left. (I don't mean you btw)

In other news... in New Zealand, they say this is how we protest in parliament.

Brilliant. Not sure why it's in this thread

Yes, and this guy (

), who was famous for his Vietnam reporting and, in my view, epitomizes the principled left, supports these people. You're basically arguing that Lyndon Johnson, who wanted to use military/technology to preserve 'Western values' overseas, would be closer to the principled left than Robert Scheer. Do I have to trot ou

Gen-Z is proven to be the generation most vulnerable to misinformation, even more so than boomers. On top of that, gen-z doesn’t look to be skewing as far left as previously thought. There’s a significant group of hardcore conservative Gen-Z that seemingly went unnoticed leading up to the election.

How do you get raped at all let alone raped to death out of any of that? I searched the article you linked for 'rape' and the word scraped was mentioned once.

The fascination people have with rape in the context of people getting murdered continues to surprise me.

well if we didnt already know that Israel was raping people to death in these torture camps then I wouldnt think much of it.

You can have clear evidence of either Israelis or Palestinians being murdered and possibly raped and partisans on either side will endlessly argue about whether the rapes happened. It's odd.

the problem is we do not have any clear evidence of rape, as Pramilla Patten herself said.

So for the sake of argument, let's say Hamas fighters murdered a thousand people but didn't rape anyone. Is that a big moral victory to you?

Likewise, I'm not sure how "IDF murders prisoners but didn't rape them" is a point much worth arguing about.

well they didnt murder a thousand people either. do you see where this goes...

anyway, yes, I think the truth matters as I have said many times.

You do you, I guess.

LOL. Principled types dont make the Palestinian cause their #1 issue. The only people doing this are tribal, zero sum brainwashed persons and anti-American progressives. More than anything, these are the people who (fairly or unfairly) are associated with the Democrat Party and when the rest of us see their horrible behavior and hypocritical histrionics it makes us want to s

Intifada was a very bad idea.

I see nothing definitive regarding who was starting the fights. I think you are a trouble maker. I hope you don't go looking for trouble in real life because you're gonna find it one of these day's.

What a bunch of creeps!

by Bill Haywood

This makes sense for Israel since it is clearly historically Jewish land to begin with. Also, it has a lot of high ground so it makes sense for safety purposes.

by jalfrezi

This is good news. The sooner Israel can completely wipe out Hamas and Hezbollah the sooner these wars will be over. I have a trip planned to Israel in two years. I was supposed to go this last summer but the Jihadists ruined it for me. I hope Trump starts to send them the big munitions to speed this thing up.

Whaddya mean lol no? Oct 07 was absolutely started by Hamas. What precisely is there to get? Explain how being annoyed at the Spanish government therefore justifies acting like a disrespectful immoral scumbag by not honouring a minute's silence for flood victims? Because I really don't "get it". You also haven't provided any citation supporting your claim that the Spanish people

these are soccer nut bags. Who cares if they were being disrespectful to Spain. Spain recognized "Palestine". I don't blame their anger.
