I’d love to know why he clings to those old brand names and refuses to change. Is it because he thinks it makes him seem cool or hip? Is it just to be a smart a.. and troll everyone?

It's just him trying to project his cleverness. Bit like how he insists on using weird words that no one else would, like criterion or penultimate. He once tried correcting me on using "less" or "fewer" in his comments but he bungled it up and made a fool of himself.

I can at least understand calling it Bally's out of habit. The name changed 2 years ago and it's mostly been Bally's since he went there. There's no way he even remembers being in a Price Club.

But why does he call it Bally's and not MGM Grand?

But why does he call it Bally's and not MGM Grand?

And why not call Planet Hollywood the Aladdin?

I can't wait for Tropicana to become Bally's in a few years and see what Diesel does then.

I met Carl Icahn many years ago at his Mt. Kisco house. At the time he owned TWA, which was tanking in value and needed a deal related to his control group liability for pension funding .Why he is shedding cash at a 23% rate, who knows ? However, if anyone is thinking of climbing on a dividend gravy boat, they better look at what's driving this cash flood.Speaking of Wall Stree

When the stock was averaging around $50 a share 2 years ago it paid an annual dividend of $8 per share. The stock tanked to the $25-$30 range and Icahn reduced the dividend to $4 a share. With the stock at $17 he has yet to reduce the dividend again. Who knows when that will happen.

Aladdin was imploded.

Is that the flattened Tropicana, or is there another one?

by pig4bill

That's the one. That's why there was a name change to Horseshoe so Bally's Corporation could use the Bally's name on their new casino on old Tropicana if/when it gets rebuilt.

by pig4bill

Aladdin was imploded.

The original Aladdin was imploded in 1998 but they rebuilt it and the new Aladdin opened in 2000. It was sold to Planet Hollywood in 2003 and they did a renovation not an implosion.

Does he still call them the Oakland Raiders?

by Pete_Peters

Happy to see the cheek patches are coming back. No reason to maintain a bare minimum level of self-maintenance if you don't have to.

It's tilting to see a grown man look like that.

Boulder Station has never been so hyped by someone.

It is a "con" because he can't figure out how to use the free play.

Does he still call them the Oakland Raiders?

He probably called them the LA Raiders in Oakland and the Oakland Raiders in LA.

and u also don't seem to know how interest works for dividends and presumably other investments?

Not that there's anything wrong with that but no one that has invested their money would think 4% interest on $100,000 would give you $4,000 a month.

That would be the greatest investment of all time.

Basically, you took the words right out of my mouth. It's incredible what limited knowledge Americans have of finance, investing, and the stock market. It should be taught in high school. New York State requires an Economics course to be taken senior year, though that was in 2000 and may have changed since then. We did mock stock trading and learned about investing, portfolio diversification, balancing your budget, compounding interest, etc.

If they had done that Diesel's senior year, he would have been the teacher's pet and given a lecture about dividend portfolios.

Sounds like you were too ignorant to check out what I posted.

A super high risk, options-based ETF? That's sounds like a great strategy..

Boys, boys, just put prev and RidePolaris on ignore, don’t quote them, don’t engage, they are contrarian mouthbreathers. TexasKK too but he went back to some hole in the ground and hasn’t posted recently.

As opposed to everyone else in here? Hah, you just made me giggle out loud. Y'all living in your hypocritical, deluded world.

Carry on

I can't handle the negativity in this thread, I quit 2p2 forever!!!

Agreed. Biggest troll in this thread, I put him on ignore ages ago. Just wish other people realised it and stopped quoting and replying to him as it just gives him what he so desperately needs.

My bad.

Rices latest offering is a review of the Bellagio buffet. His lack of awareness about most of the foods on offer is astounding. Despite that, he still feels qualified to give it the following scores:

Selection: 8.81
Quality: 7.09

He took 4 plates of very basic stuff, like pizza/pasta and Asian food and wasn't even able to finish that. Hilariously he thinks the only vegas buffet with more selection is bacchanal. Ive been to Bellagio buffet many times and it's definitely one of the smaller buffets in terms of selection. Perhaps Rice should just stick to the EDR salad bar.

His buffet tip for viewers was don't waste calories on drinks. He says that while he tucks into cheese pizzas, Mac n cheese and another plate of pasta bolognaise.

Also surprised that he truncated his scores for us slightly. 7.08 was probably in his mind originally 7.084714903
