Hero call with 22 and the table of nits can't believe it.

Playing 2/3 with a $500 cap. I am sitting with around $700, just for the readers the game plays more like a 2/5 no straddle with the standard open size to be around $15.

The hand starts off with 6 players hero in the CO opening pocket 2s for $15 and the BTN a young asian player(TAG, only shown down broadways and Ax) 3-bets me to $60, folds around and I call.

The flop comes down 984r.

I know leading isn't the correct play at equilibrium however, given the players extremely tight 3-bet range I can see close to 0% of his range to connect with this board while I have all the 89, sets and JT for OESD. So I lead for about 33% pot ($40). The villain on the BTN does something strange by raising me to $160. I decide to call as the only hands that have any showdown value are over pairs but this player is known for slow playing.

Turn is the Ts bringing in BDFD and goes XX.
River is Ac. Completing no straights or flushes. And i check with low showdown value and the villain tank shoves. I am in the tank and decide villains only hands that connect and beat me are AK, AQ and AJ but he has all the broadway combos other than QJ that I beat and through randomizing I decide to make a loose call and get shown the KJs for an airball bluff.

note: villain is a young asian fish

Does this call down surprise you? any tips or I just got lucky and ran into the only bluff he has

1. Don't post results
2. Villain is a TAG and a fish. In what ways is he a fish? Generally TAGs tend to be the least fishiest at low stakes, but can be fishy. Can you be specific?
3. Pre initial raise is good from CO
4. You just about have the odds to set mine, assuming you cover him? You do right? However we are OOP, so I would generally fold.
5.. Flop lead is awful. Why are we doing it? Calling the raise is also awful
6. Check turn is standard.
7. Fold River

In general we don't make our money at low stakes picking off massive river bluffs. You got lucky. Hopefully you try again and they show AK or whatever, because that way you'll learn.

the problem with donking in 3bet pots is that both of you still have nut advantages since V can have all the overpairs, OESD's and even some sets if he's targeting you. Regardless you are correct to suspect his flop raise because all of those hands can simply trap/evaluate turn. His turn check falls in line with a flop bluff in a sort of bet-check-bet line. I do think you have to fold the river unfortunately barring some sort of timing tell which it seems like you may have had.

I agree with Hitchens. At low stakes calling 3bets oop with 22 will burn money. I agree with you that the flop favors your range over the villains’, but your hand has no equity while the villain could have two overs and a bdfd or even an overpaid. Your hand has showdown value, so check the flop, turn, and river.

This is a troll guys cmon

Where and when are you next playing?

Snap fold to 4x 3bet OOP with a baby pair.
Flop lead is fine - make it larger - fold to the raise but I suppose you could 3bet to try and get him off an overpair very occasionally.
Google "confirmation bias" and once you have a good understanding of that, look up "fancy play syndrome"

but he has all the broadway combos other than QJ that I beat

If you're not heavily discounting the Broadway hands then your flop bet must have been bad - presumably the main benefit of a flop lead is to deny equity to hands like his exact holding

In your second paragraph you describe V as TAG.

In the fourth one you say that V has an extremely tight 3bet range (and you still called his 3bet with 22 ...)

At the end, in the note, you say V is a fish.

No offence, but I am having a hard time understanding if this is a troll, a brag, or a genuine but somewhat sloppy post.

Edit:

and through randomizing I decide to make a loose call

Randomizing at 2/3 live LoL
Ok, this is a troll

If OP isn’t a troll, we shouldn’t be so hard. If he is one, no use getting our knickers in a twist.

Go home Stupidbanana, you're drunk.

Wait, wrong thread?
