I think a key issue here is that a lot of your ideas that you have thought of and posited in the last 5 minutes has been thoroughly examined and argued as opposed to you reaching some groundbreaking new economic utopia.
A lot of these "theoretical questions" have in fact been answered and the people in those particular fields have a lot more understanding and information than someone with an entry level opinion of economics.
