The argument is whether a majority of live poker players want to play in very shorthanded games.

Nope that's not the argument at all. No one ever claimed that most players prefer to play very shorthanded games. No point reading anything you wrote after that since your entire premise is flawed.

I'm not arguing one way or another. My own observations and experience don't qualify me to make a sweeping statement about what most poker players prefer or don't prefer. But at least I am able to acknowledge that.

Recs dont like shorthanded play because it encourages everyone to loosen up and strange as it seems recs actually rely upon the protection of multiway pots to avoid being relentlessly bluffed. They'll happily vpip 60 at an 8 handed table because they know if 4 people call then they're just playing bingo poker and nobody is making any moves when they hit. But if they're playing 5 handed or god forbid even 4 handed then most pots will be HU and they'll just get frustrated at all the barreling where now their hand range is too weak to make necessary hero calls or play back.

That doesn't lessen the pain.

His first fresh vlog will be complaining about all the deductions on his paycheck to support old people and illegal immigrants.

He seems to be the type that doesn't complain about that.

Funny, that's about the only video of his I've watched in the past 6 months. I'm way more interested in road trips than poker results from 5 or 6 years ago. I may even try to beat his record someday. I think I'll have a chance, because I won't have to:a) Drive through a snow storm because I was staying with my parents for the holidays;b) Start in Connecticut because it's the cl

That type of "challenge" is utterly pointless to me. Play in X number of different poker rooms within Y amount of time.

OMC are not primarily sitting at a poker table to play poker.

They have nothing better to do, they get free coffee, see their friends, and minimize a potential loss.

The more players the better the chance they will be called holding the nuts.

That describes Diesel to a large degree. He considers it a good game if they listen to his baseball stats. He plays more for the comps than to win hands.

When was the last time he received a W2?

by parisron

Despite the promise, he was not one of those who bagged up for day 2 as per the updates on WSOP.com

That tweet was late last night about the tournament just starting today (Wednesday) the $500 Kickoff.

I don't think he qualified for the $500 employee.

I'm sure Big Whale's reply will apply just the same tomorrow.

There is an average pot size thing going on as well. My live experience is 2/5+ on the east coast and even at 10/25 most losing players start getting antsy when games get down to 5 players. Logically short, $7/half hour time rake games should be a dream for recs, but they donÂ’t care about average per hand loss rates. Their biggest fear is spots where they either win a small pot or lose a big one. The ratios donÂ’t matter, theyÂ’ll happily lose a disproportionate amount of small and medium pots for a chance at a big one.

It took me a while to figure out giving more action doesnÂ’t decrease the chance of a game breaking. Better to lay off a bit especially on early streets and find ways to kick up the stakes. They want average pot size to increase without giving them tougher decisions.

What does that mean?

Since the majority of immigrants are Spanish speakers, and given that ELD speaks Spanish, my theory is that there are high odds that ELD supports immigration and benefits for immigrants. Thus he would not complain about deductions from his paycheck at least for the immigration benefits portion.

Anyone who defends Rice as much as you do has to be a nit, in life and in poker. Lol what math? What stats? You are just talking out your ass. What you think you "know" is based on a tiny insignificant sample of the population. It's also subject to your own biases. Anyone as adamant as you are about a subject like this is riddled with bias. I'm not saying you are right or wrong,

Man, you are just mopping the floor with Ride Polaris excellent stuff. You love to see it!

Was the word "illegal" in my comment?

Como hispanohablante y niños inmigrantes no estoy de acuerdo. Como abogada, Rice juró respetar las leyes de Estados Unidos.

Don't even tell me what the transaction fee on an ATM outside the WSOP is. Pman really does live in cloud cuckoo land

Jamming 36BB with TT has to be really bad. Looked it up on my solver, it says call 3/4, raise 1/4 (but just over a min click not a rip).

AND he had position… geez that’s bad.

Dare we even ask how he got so short in Level 2? no because I’m sure that’s just as bad.

Pmanpunts strikes again.

I think pman did a super duper good job. He was ahead when the money went into the pot. He will get his grove on in the next tournament.

It's called a hypothesis, and I know it would be proven true if a survey were administered to enough players where the margin of error is less than 4%. I only need 50.1% or more to say they prefer games that are 7+ handed to prove that hypothesis. Even if the results were 50.1% with the stated margin of error being 4%, I still win. I would poll a random sample of players to make sure players at all stakes, poker markets, and age levels were included.

By the way, I never said anything about VERY short-handed games. Someone else injected that. According to Petrucci, you mopped the floor with me. Only in your warped minds.

Did you account for that MP caller?

Even better play with that dead money

I hope Diesel is adjusting well. If anyone sees him make sure to tell him to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.
