the idea is AGI will be able to tell you how to build a quantum pc like human research would maybe be able to in 100 year, but in 5 min. And give you a jump of decades of moore law per day in chip design as well. Including all tools tech to make that.
Remember it's better than the best human ever was at researching *anything* (and gets better every day) and you can have a team of millions of them.
Same for energy, think what humans will be able to do to generate energy in 2100; then think 2200; then think 2500.
If AGI appears today, in one week it has 2100 tech, in 2 weeks 2200, in a month 2500 (or something like that).
Even with already developed technology just think 100 years ahead in solar, nuclear and so on, now think you improve a century of worldwide human research every week (or month), only physical limits will be the limit basically

Who is further from the truth in quantitative probabilistic assessment, somebody denying anthropogenic climate change will have any effect on humanity or someone claiming it will kill every one of us? Who is objectively wrong more? Who is more anti science?

We don't read every thread every day, much less every post. You can complain about this with posts like the above, but that's not actually helpful, nor will it generally reflect reality. Also, certain threads are modded differently than others when their nature leads them to getting out of control.

We have no clue how to reach AGI but we can discuss fairly well what would happen if we did actually.
Same as we don't know how to cure all cancer but we can discuss rationally what would happen to society if we were able to, depending on definition and costs.
I imagine you could have a decent working model of what would happen to society if perfect (working 100% of the times) cure of cancer developed and costed 1k USD once, and another fairly different one if it costed 100k/year (delaying all cancer effects, but resuming cancer if interrupted).
For example we could all agree all defined benefit pension systems would immediately collapse if not reformed extensively, and will very probably be untenable anyway. See this doesn't require any idea HOW to cure cancer.
