You can be insufferable at times you know but yes, what he said there was that he was looking for an excuse. If you want to argue that he was looking for a good excuse then ok.
Nah we'll have to agree to disagree etc. An excuse is just that, he was looking for violations which were banworthy but didn't find any ,and as I said I'm not getting into it with you, people can read what Gansta wrote and draw their own conclusions.

Don't you think Vic posts an absolute ton of content in the I/P thread? I don't know what he posted in the Ukraine thread but it would have to have been voluminous filth to be four times worse than mets ban worthy posts.

The only "content" he posts are the pictures and videos of people getting killed, which he was asked to stop.
The thread will be pretty dead without him and to help make that one of those self-fulfilling prophesy things, I'll stay out of it until he's back.

Very difficult to have a proper discussion with such a poster.
I'm not really for banning anyone, but if you put a gun to my head and made me choose a reg to ban, Victor would be a no brainer. His posting is terrible and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I'm sure that saying this makes me a liberal or something.
I'm not into bans myself and I personally periodically stick him on ig, but otoh it's of absolutely no surprise to me either that he got a ban, he's just rage bait, the equivalent of a twitter feed.
Well I disagree with what you're saying because I know Vic's stance, and it's not dissimilar to mine and others who are in no way shape or form Putin apologists. But let's' not get into that here.
He really did have a habit of dodging questions, repeating already objectively debunked claims and stanning for Vlad in that thread, you can check yourself. In a weird way it reminded me of debating with Amanda Knox groupies- they'd make a bunch of false claims, you'd debunk them and they'd simply repeat the same bs and it just came across as spam and that's how it went in the Ukraine thread. But as you said best not to get into that here, we'll agree to disagree.
Okay, I'm going to ask that everyone stop now with dissecting and shading each others' posting personalities. I don't mean this in such a way as to shut down discussion in an authoritarian way, and I'm sorry if anyone takes it that way, but it doesn't feel right to me that everyone is discussing someone who cannot respond.
The ruling has been made, and that's the end of it. Please stop piling on people who aren't here. This goes for everyone, not just Victor. We're a community. This negativity and shittiness amongst us does nothing for anyone.

If I'm alerted to it or if I see it, I'll ask that posters not make personal implications about each others' characters. If it happens continuously and gratuitously, the timeouts escalate. That's how I've been trying to do it, and it works best when posters collaborate with me.

I'm not the police. I'm gentle handed and look for ways to minimize punitive punishments. I'm communicative and I respond to PMs thoroughly and respectfully. I use my time here thoughtfully, and I'm flexible in my corrections, as I know I'm also a human and fallible. I want to cooperate and collaborate and build good things together. You should consider PMing me. ♥
Thanks CN, and I would PM you but I really really didn't want you to ban or even warn someone because then I'd be an accomplice to what I see are draconian and unnecessary rules (for all the reasons I've stated), and a stinking hypocrite to boot.
But as I said, I appreciate you trying to keep this forum and that thread in particular going and the hard spot you find yourself in wrt other mods.
