A7 turn

A7 turn

I open the button with A7o and only the BB calls. This is his first hand. No reads.

JcTs3h...He checks, I bet, he calls

JcTs3h6d...He checks, Do I bet again?

Should I check the flop?

This is a flop I check. If I bet, I check the turn.

Either option fine on flop, check turn either way

Why?
Don’t we want to charge all the miss draw from the flop ?
Or it’s because you feel the pot is too small to bother to bet the turn ?

If you’re playing against someone super predictable who will c/r flop with any pair, play passively with draws, and never bluff the river, then yeah, go ahead and bet the turn. But this hand is not much more than a bluff catcher and it seems better to check back, potentially induce some bluffs, and save yourself a bet when you’re behind. You also become very easy to play against if you blindly fire two barrels every time (particularly in a BTN v BB spot) and you should be checking back a bunch of hands here. It seems like A7 is a good hand to have in that mix.

turn check fully realizes your equity, probably the most important thing in LHE

turn b/f does not

Eh, I don’t know that we realize 100% of our equity if we check the turn. Are you really calling a Q/9 river? I’m not.
