Interesting interview though, everyone is the hero of their own journey

Pretty much this. His narrative has changed to suit him.

To listen to him now you would think that coming to Vegas and becoming a winning poker player was never his ambition at all. His plan all along was to just make YouTube videos and eventually get into selling candy to his viewers... yeah bro sure it was!

But I still don't know why people here couldn't get their head around the fact that he's not broke and he probably never will be. He has enough fans that will support him and will buy any crap he chooses to sell.

Honestly, stopping him from playing poker and other gambling was the smartest thing Lady Trooper and her family could have done for Trooper!

He is definitely broke. The numbers hes talking about is when his channel was at his peak 8 years ago. What about the last few years? He said himself in a video a year or two back he's no longer rolled for 2/5. He's clearly not making money from poker, and his channel has been surpassed by just about anyone with a vlog now. Youtube $ and merch sales would have plummeted as a result. He pivoted and went all in on this candy thing, I think it's clear he's not making enough from his other sources of income if hes willing to just abandon years of work. He couldn't sustain his youtube success and now he has no choice but to find another way.

I don’t buy what he’s selling in the vlog, but the drama of trooper in Vegas is over to me

I would respect him a lot more if he just had the balls to admit that he failed at poker and so he's taking a different path now.

If he said something like he has come to the realization that he is barely a breakeven poker player so it doesn't make sense for him to continue investing his time and energy into it especially when he has no desire to actually put in the time to study and take his game to the next level.

For someone who is always claiming to be 100% authentic, his lack of intellectual honesty with regards to his own career/life evolution and his backstory should be bleedingly obvious to all but his most one-eyed fans!

Holy run-on sentences, Batman!

Exactly. There is nothing wrong with trying and failing and hopefully learning from that failure.

It seems bad 'run outs' are wearing down our protagonist Rice.

I'm working overnight and just saw Rice's latest.

Lots of numbers, some complaints of run bad, and it looks like he's not going to make the hours for the challenge.

He keeps mentioning that "a lot of terrible things keep happening" and says he will explain in a future video. Sounds like run bad, but I won't commit they cardinal sin of speculating about what a poker vligger vaguely alludes to.

One thing about Trooper, he had no qualms about reporting a bad session. In fact, most of his can support comes on those videos of the losses. Rice seems to go full 180 on this line.

Rice is gonna be in for a nice surprise when the 5x tier credits are not applied to poker.

it will make a good episode though.

Hilarious stuff to see Rice give up on his 50 hours challenge due to cant handling the negative variance. When he started the cameraroll when back at his room failing at the hours target for the day he looks like he was absolutely spinning around in his head and totally worn down.

His mental state seems to get worse and worse, i would guess this socalled "nomad" lifestyle trying to survive on below minimum wage is wearing him down alot more than he would admit or talk openly about.

Diesel with the horrible self awareness again. Horseshoe gets almost double the entries for the freeroll tourney and he attributes it to people grinding the tier multipier. Definitely not because there's some huge event this week like some random football game. Yep, people are grinding hard for 85 tier per hour at 1-3 instead of the normal 17 tier per hour. Pure comedy.

Just another example of Diesel the world revolves around him. He's grinding the tier multiplier so everyone else must be too.

one thing i gotta say...you guys were ripping him to shreds when he changed his previous challenge parameters saying he never sticks to his plans

now that he's trying to stick to his challenge and reach his goal you guys still criticizing him

he cannot win no matter what he does

haha, my how naive your are. you think internet trolls are ever content or willing to concede? you'd think in the year 2024 folks would finally have an understanding of how trolls operate and treat life/others, but I guess not.

Two things about the tier credit grinding at Horseshoe: first, a guy grinding hours during one of the multiplier days mentioned that if you do some non-poker gambling on each day after registering for the promo, then the TCs all get mixed in together, even though poker is supposed to be excluded. Second, anyone looking to maximize TCs should be playing 2/3 at Horseshoe or 1/3 at Caesars. I'm sure ElD has it all figured out as to why I'm wrong, though.

to say you would respect him a lot more implies you hold some respect for him to start with, albeit a little. that is obviously not a true statement. you want him to admit he failed at poker for your own self-gratification and to feel like you won as an internet troll. come on man, be intellectually honest. walk the walk if you're going to talk the talk.

Hilarious how every time he has one of these breakdowns due to running horribly he still constantly needs to point out that he is even or ahead for the day. Like what is he trying to say, that even though he runs so bad he still manages to win due to his amazing poker skills?

The guy is now well beyond a joke. He now has a mental breakdown any day where he wins less than he thinks he should have won. I mean he doesn't even need to be losing in order for him to flip out! I can't see things ending well for Rice as his downward spiral seems to be reaching terminal velocity.

I respect his decision to stop wasting his time flapping around with poker. Even if it was only at the insistence of Lady Trooper and her family.

I don't respect the way he tries to make out like he never really cared that much about poker. He failed in what he set out to achieve in Vegas; namely that of being a successful gambler/poker player. But he will never admit that.

He is a terrible gambler, and at best he is a break even poker play at the lowest of stakes. Thank God he finally figured that out after only 12 years and he is now directing his time and energy into something more productive.

his idea of running bad is having kings cracked once and 2 pair losing to a set/straight on the same day. it's pretty comical.

Every once in a while I have a day where I run atrociously and somehow finish break even ish bc the game is truly amazing and wonder how the hell that happens.
But almost every time I (or anyone actually trying to win and not playing scared) runs like death you get torched.

But somehow he can go 30 sessions or whatever without losing more than 300 dollars and thinks it's an accomplishment.

He's basically an OMC at 30. And OMC like Rice doesn't like the feeling of losing 4-5 buy ins so he plays not to lose. That's way different than playing to win, pushing all edges available and embracing the varaince. The only real difference is a normal OMC is playing for fun and maybe slight profit. I have played with plenty of people who are perfectly happy to play weak tight poker for 8 hours, socialize and break even for the day. The normal OMC is not gonna change casinos 6 times a night and play 3 tables in each casino looking for someone dumb enough to pay him off. This is almost entirely where Rice's tiny win rate comes from. Eventually when you casino/table change this much you find a guy raising big and calling 3 bets with any 2 cards. And this is where Rice really turns of the folding even more than usual and every 4 hours or so on average gets dealt AA/KK and can really pounce. Notice his disgust a few days ago when some maniac was going wild, Rice was "card dead" and someone else picked up the kings he was waiting for to stack the maniac. That should have been his kings! He deserves them and was screwed again.

It seems bad 'run outs' are wearing down our protagonist Rice.

In before busto:
-takes two months off
-comes back to Vegas to survive on nitty 1/3
games
-runs bad for several months (breakeven)
-no other source of income
-moves into the tunnels

Just in time to cash out that dividend portfolio and play a bunch of WSOP tournaments.

I won't be watching the Super Bowl halftime show.

Instead, I am warming up my DVD player and dusting off my well worn copy of the greatest movie ever made, 'HEAT'.

To play true tribute to Timmy you would have to skip the game entirely not just halftime and forget there was a game at all. **** sports. Its all about the “No Gamble”.

Rice once again had to abort mission after just 1 hour of play and head back to his room due to another setback hand not going his way. Says he cant take it, good chance he takes rest of the day off "to do something else".

Like, he had almost 2 months off in Dec+Jan and is losing his shyt almost instantly when he gets back to Vegas to start playing again.

Hashtag pokerpro/pokerlife.

He’s got those 4 voucher drinks though while the rest of the sucker tourists have to pay for their chocolate milk and purple Gatorade!

Rice is genuinely shook from 'run bad' after seven years of 'run good'.

Rice said previously he's been in a 'run bad' cycle for the better part of a year now.

I'm pretty sure Rice's $14/hr is down to scraps for the last year.

I guess he just had a vigorous workout right before the first half of that video right? He was sucking wind.
