Sometimes they are just 2 or 3 minutes long, usually they are just nonsense videos of him rambling about topics completely unrelated to poker and that his viewers couldnt care less about. When El Diesel first starting talking about this, I did some digging as I have a nice chunk of my portfolio in dividend stocks and thought maybe I was missing something.
Based on his stated returns and goals, the math just wasn't mathing. It is just another example of his alternative reality universe he lives in.
In the real world, I've made many adjustments including selling a long held dividend REIT stock and went into i-bonds and simple 1 year CDs because of current interest rates.
An example would be Verizon, paying around 6.4% dividend (one of the highest yields for DOW stocks), unfortunately the stock price has declined and you would have a total return of -11% over the last three years. I'm sure El Diesel could come up with a smug explanation of why you are miserable if this high dividend stock isn't in your portfolio.

Sure. Anytime you hit a stock that more than doubles in two years, the dividend is just icing on the cake. But just like in poker, you don't always get dealt the nuts, sometimes you get a bad beat. Long term, overall, you usually start moving towards the norm.

Not going to sign up but it is great news that he is not going to post keep track videos on YouTube to “save” for the newsletter, those videos are the worst. The newsletter seems super long, so at least people paying will get their money’s worth of full blown diesel.
