10k stuck on pokerstars
Have around 10k stuck on pokerstars for a number of years. I lived in Canada but moved to the US and forgot about it. Have travelled to Ontario 3 times in the past 5 years and each time I have tried to withdraw. I have uploaded my Canadian passport multiple times, given my banking information multiple times but they never release it. I get an automated message "Liveness check is not clear or is missing". I have taken the passport pictures multiple times in good lighting. The pictures are clear. I have sent multiple emails asking about it with no resolution. At this point I believe they have no intention of releasing the funds and have just taken the money.

If you want to withdraw you have to live in Canada, is that correct ?
How is it possible to forget 10k to withdraw before you move ?
Move back to Canada, play and withdraw and then it is fine i think.

I have dual US Canadian citizenship. At the time I didn't think moving back to the US would be permanent, but life happens. Moved on from online poker, got a full time job etc. Then a few years pass and realize, hey I never went back to online poker and would like to withdraw.
But pokerstars have made it impossible to get it out. Even having traveled back to Canada multiple times over the years I have never been able to withdraw. Have sent in all the verifications asked of me, passports etc.
At this point it is pretty obvious to me that they are just keeping the money. It sucks but what can you do? Only thing I can do at this point is warn others.

Not sure what you mean. Pokerstars is making it impossible for me to cash out. Others may run into the same issue.

Care to elaborate? Give timeframes, because PokerStars isn't owned by the same people as from before Black Friday. I'm in the US tho so not familiar with what happened to ROW accounts around that time, nor when ownership changed hands
The other day someone from California was trying to tell me that "they" won't give him his password because this guy had no idea about Black Friday, or even that there are only a few US states that have explicitly legalized online poker (PokerStars operates in those US states now and they are very clearly not the same company lol). In other words, the PokerStars as this person knows it literally doesn't exist anymore and that money is likely gone, legally taken from him one way or the other. US players had ample time to withdraw their funds when PS got shut down for US customers back in 2011
