Is it only movies or also TV shows here? Because if it's TV shows, the best one would be Supernatural.

I enjoy Besson's colorful worlds, even if they aren't really great films. The Fifth Element is a damn fun movie. But Natalie Portman prancing about as Marilyn Monroe in Leon is definitely creepy.

That's definitely a sequence where I play on my phone or skip completely. I'm glad Jean Reno played it the way he did because I didn't get creepy vibes from him. Definitely learning a l

You’ll never listen to the Rolling Stones the same way after reading up on Bill Wyman.

You'll never listen to the Rolling Stones the same way after reading up on Bill Wyman.

Wiki/
On 2 June 1989, aged 52, Wyman married 18-year-old Mandy Smith, whom he had "fallen in love with" when she was 13 and, according to Smith, had a sexual relationship with when she was 14.[45] The couple separated two years later and finalised their divorce two years after that.[46][47]

In 1993, Wyman's son Stephen Wyman married Patsy Smith, the 46-year-old mother of Bill's ex-wife Mandy Smith. Stephen was 30 years old at the time. Consequently, the ex-Rolling Stone became his own son's ex-son-in-law, the father-in-law of his ex-mother-in-law, as well as the stepgrandfather of his ex-wife.

Who knew they had Kentucky in England?!?

Local band here used to play I’m My Own Grandpa and dedicated it to him. Literally his own ex-stepgrandfather in law.

Going to a screening of The Big Lebowski tonight that's sponsored by a RI cannabis store. I hope they're serving White Russians.

They play golf?

I'm in a retro phase for movie viewing. Watched a good oldie tonight called "Deep Red." 50 years old, suspense, mystery, with very mild slasher content (that was considered slasher by that day's standards, I guess).

Darned if the lead actor, David Hemmings, doesn't alternately look like, first, David Cassidy, then George Clooney ... then so dead on Richard Burton. Crazy.

You know Paddington returns to Peru in the third installment.

Probably my favorite Bill Murray clip. Some context for those who haven't seen The Man Who Knew Too Little: Bill Murray's character thinks he's role-playing with a "live theater" improv group where he's supposed to solve a mystery, but he unwittingly stumbles into a real criminal plot.

I came across a fan theory a few weeks ago about Donny being a figment of Walter's imagination and how other characters don't respond to him except for the Dude in one scene. Haven't seen it in a while, but I never picked up on that.

I haven’t seen that but dont see how that theory holds up.

1.“Phone’s ringing Dude.” “Thank you Donny.”
2. What would they have been doing at the funeral home / on the cliffs if Donny wasn’t real? What blew all over the Dude’s face?

The Ferris Bueller isn’t real one is much better.

Yeah, Donny not existing doesn’t hold up at all.

A good Ferris theory is that he’s living in a Groundhog Day loop.

I should probably google this but I'm too lazy, but jeff bridges was reportedly asked about this at a fan convention and supported the theory.

I read the same thing about Jeff Bridges liking the theory but never fact-checked it. Like I said, it's been a while since I've seen that movie, but I watched the video below to get an idea of what Donny's scenes were like.

Since Walter is so messed up from Vietnam, all the complaining and "shut-the-****-up- Donnies" could be him yelling at the annoying voice inside his head. Around 1:15, after Donny leaves one pin standing, you can hear Walter rambling in the background. There's a dreamlike audio effect on his voice as he says, "This whole ****ing thing is nothin' but nothin'." Even when the Dude looks towards Donny, it's not really at him, just in his general direction, and he only ever acknowledges him through Walter.

Is that "Phone's ringin', Dude" scene the only part anyone responds to Donny? Because if Jeff Bridges is annoyed with Walter and sees Donny as a figment of his imagination, the Dude's lines would still make sense if you removed Donny's lines. He's sick of hearing Walter complain to "Donny."

Maybe the funeral is just the Dude dealing with more of Walter's nonsense? Is there a noticeable change in Walter's character after that scene? Is he even in the movie after that? Maybe he's the one that had the heart attack? "I'd go myself, but I'm pumping blood; might pass out."

And what's the meaning of "I Am the Walrus?" I don't know anything about the lyrics or the story it was written about, but there could be some significance there. Or maybe the title just keeps popping into Walter's mind after the Dude mentions Lenin.

Not sure how accurate all that is, but definitely don't overlook the level of depth in Cohen brothers movies. I really liked this analysis of True Grit.

28 Years Later (2025)
Gotta say found this really meh at best and not that great at all, more of a drama than a horror with a really saggy middle and it also to a degree retconned 28 Weeks Later. Very mediocre, for me.

I watched a few movies in the movie theater this week:
Superman: Thought it was really fun. Wasn't expecting to have Green Lantern played by Nathan Fillion. Lex Luthor did a great job. I never heard of Mr. Terrific before, loved the character. I really enjoyed the movie.

The Naked Gun: Laughed a lot throughout the movie. Lots of good one-liners, and very silly scenes. Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson were both great.

Bad Guys 2: My daughter is a fan, so I watched it on 4dx with her. I hadn't seen a feature length movie in 4d before. This one worked really well, with scenes in space, car chases, and all kinds of other set pieces that work well with moving seats. The movie had a good sense of humor. My favorite character is shark.

Wtf is 4D? Live theater?

Broken YouTube Link

Man, would I have loved to have gotten plastered with Harris, O'Toole, and Burton back in the day

by Dominic

Wtf is 4D? LIVE theater?

4DX is a combination of 3D, moving seats, and extra stuff like water spraying in your face and snow falling in the theater.

I saw Superman in 4DX and it felt like riding a roller coaster. Would maybe do it again for shits and giggles, but it’s an odd gimmick and not really an experience I want to repeat.

Lol I did watch a John Waters film with Odorama once
