The Phoenician Scheme was fun...Kate Winslet's daughter is amazing in it, and so his Michael Cera. But ultimately, lightweight Wes Anderson.
I have this one queued up and I'm sad that I have zero motivation to watch it. The last Wes Anderson movie I loved was The Grand Budapest Hotel, I liked Isle of Dogs just fine, but after that I've been blah on him since =(

I LOVED Isle Of Dogs....but did not enjoy the French Dispatch very much, but did so with Asteroid City...I'd say the latest one is about even with that one.
Drop was damn fun...nice low budget thriller that looks great...very good performances by a cast of mostly unknowns. A woman goes on a first date and someone in the restaurant airdrops her that her sister and son will be killed at home unless she murders the man she's on a date with.
I've been on dates like this.

Superman has completely left my head...it is that memorable lol. It's no more interesting or aesthetically pleasing than a standard Saturday morning cartoon.
What a joke crap like this gets great reviews.

I loved Isle of Dogs too, but I put Wes Anderson in the same category as Wit Stillman--I love his work but am always astounded when anyone else does--they are just too personal and too unique.
F1 was a blast.
I know nothing about F1 racing and now I'm hooked. I had no idea what it takes to race one of these cars. Kosinski does it again with hi-tech machinery that goes VROOOM, just like he did with Top Gun: Maverick.
Most fun, exciting movie I've seen this year. Blows the cartoony Superman out of the water in entertainment value.

Hands down, one of the better Paddingtons! Full of adorable things that only Brits do! Lots of easter eggs for movie fans! Crikey! Check it out!
Deaf President Now! is streaming on Apple TV. I found this an amazing documentary and unexpectedly emotional. Definitely worth seeing.

Like Redman Barry, all things are not what they seem... except maybe this time they are.
I just thought Cal 18 was appropriate for this film.
Oh, and I have some Gin on the shelf that I have been dying to try. Barrel Aged 13th Colony Gin, and it's supposed to be amazing.
30 years ago today, the greatest teen comedy ever was released.
Clueless is one of those movies I think of as a "perfect film." It's so light and bubbly and its characters are all lovely and fun and people who, even if you wouldn't be friends with all of them, they are are all basically good.
Even the relationship Cher has with her Dad is wholesome and loving.
I love this movie.

i LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! I'm a big Jane Austen fan and jealously guard her legacy, but this is still my favorite adaptation.
But 30 years. God, I'm old.
btw, that yellow kilt that Cher wore still reverberates in worldwide fashion today.
I had forgotten how great Imelda Staunton was in Harry Potter & The Order Of The Phoenix. Had to turn the channel because her office was too creepy. Never wanted to crawl into a book and kill a fictional character more than Umbridge. Voldemort especially in the movies is kinda silly and pathetic, despite how dangerous he is. Umbridge really might be the most underrated movie villain ever.

Billy Joel: And So I Goes is damn good. I'm not even a big Billy Joel film, but this two part documentary is fascinating.
Agreed although as much as I am looking forward to part 2 to see Christie Brinkley I ****ing can’t stand Uptown Girl, which may be one of the worst songs ever recorded.
There a scene cut from Pulp Fiction where Mia asks Vincent if he’s a Beatles guy or an Elvis guy. You can like both, but you have to like one more than the other.
I added to that same idea for Billy Joel and Elton John. I’ve always been for Billy Joel so I can’t wait to watch it once the 2nd episode drops.
