POG PUB 2025-2026: About damn time. For a lot of things. But not everything.
Happy New Year, everyone.
I'll let you all mentally fill in the categories in the title.
Please do not adulterate my lovely vegetable paella with dead yardbird, amp. And no need to kill for it, filthy! If I win the HGTV sweepstakes and get to open my B&B, I'll invite you and crossnerd to come stay as test guests and try all my recipes on you both.
I'll find a B&B that meets my macronutrient profile.
I'm drunk as sh*t at 10am in the front yard playing with my gf's golden retriever. we are having the time of our lives! I'm literally crying tears of joy it's so fun, and I'm so happy. and the neighbor sees us, and is like "is that my dog?"
and I'm thinking "oh fml.. bitch, I have so many mental health problems, and social disfunction AND I'm drunk at 10am at an airbnb... like I can't deal with this"
I think I got through it ok? it was hard for me to talk. so I tapped my chest indicating it's my dog... and I said "no she's my dog"
and she said some normal stuff, idk what... and she added "she's beautiful"
and I kind of panicked thinking of different possibilities on how to respond, and not knowing what to do, but I managed "thank you"
and she might have said some more stuff. idk. and maybe I interrrupted her, or not, and just kind of innapropriately said "good morning"... and she said it back... and I think that was that? idk
Crazy talk
No one owns a dog
Owning a pet is a relationship with the human community.
The actual relationship with a dog is more supervisory. Like please keep your lil dog actions within reasonable bounds.
With a cat it's more of a guardian relationship. Anyone who messes with this cat is getting put in the blender. In return he sits on me and purrs.
Also I provide grooming services (the good kind).
I don't remember enough about the nobody owns a cat thing to make a relevant joke about it.
TIL: Today, February 23rd was National Banana Bread Day
Put it on your calendar for next year.
there is a national banana bread day, but there should also be a national give up on life day. should be April 19th. my bday
so no need to wait a whole year
also... yum!
I would call that breakfast!
VR do you use butter, or a cool margarine?

I was going to comment that my birthday is the next day, but I think we've covered that before, so just ignore this post.
I always think "margarine" like in Hiphopopotomus vs Rhymenocerus
it's really a horrible song, but the raw aesthetic apart from the lyrics I think holds up
rewatching BBC sherlock with benedict cumberatch. it was so good at the time, but doesn't hold up as well as i'd hoped.
one thing that does hold up though, is my anxiety at all the cabs they catch in London! mark would die! those things cost more than healthcare in USA
Top tier YT video essayist hbomberguy has one about why Sherlock sucks so much. I think I watched it three times.
Also highest recommendation on his video on the bizarre Russian game Pathalogic.
This is the stuff I watch instead of movies.
London transportation is no problem. Fares, transfers, deals are all auto-calculated. Just tap your phone for whatever. It's easier than NYC.
Having finally purchased my first 3d printer, my overwhelming feeling is that I need another 3d printer.
Milwaukee charges thirty dollars for 37 cents worth of plastic. Not any more!
But there is a five hour print going and I have no other 3d printer [emoji24]
I love anything that does work whilst I lounge. PowerShell. Robot vacuum. Ansible.
Bambu Labs has the whole thing worked out. I haven't touched a slicer yet, just models from the community, all of which have been printed thousands of times on the exact printer I have.
My other observation is that the mf wiggles all over the place throwing that printhead around and still has accuracy around point one mm.
What are you making that makes it worth the expense?
