Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
I was at the NWA concert the night before the riot depicted in the movie. Even 30-40 years ago we did not feel entitled to sing ALL the lyrics in public.
I assume we're not allowed to say what 'NWA' stood for. Just like we're not allowed to say the title of Dick Gregory's 1964 autobiography (which was still in print 50 years later).

Of course you're allowed to say it! ****** With Attitude! And I read Dick Gregory's book, it was called ******.
Bro you can not say t e m u on this site. You cannot say d i a g f on this site. Are you upset about restrictions in general or just this one.
Well, I guess we'll find out if you CAN say those two things on this site, since you just said them.
I'm not 'upset' with anything. Not my website or forum. They can have any rules they want.
That said, I'm almost a free-speech absolutist. In my opinion, any word in the Oxford Unabridged Dictionary should be allowed.
Using the n-word to disparage POC should certainly be against the rules in my opinion. But when I quoted the n-word from a rap song it wasn't being used disparagingly.
I learned my lesson. I will not quote the n-word or any variant of the n-word moving forward.
I like that avatar though.
Yeah. I remember back during the Vanilla Ice age a lot of white kids thought it was cool to call each other that. They figured it out. Unlike a lot of pejorative terms, that's a tough one to deflate.
And the SNL 'interview' skit with Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase. Chase uses the n-word in a word-association test with Pryor.
I've watched reaction channels with black hosts on youtube, and they find the skit hysterically funny. First they're shocked when Chase says the n-word...then they laugh out loud hysterically after Pryor's response.
oh sweet jesus

I said previously that I had serious questions about your judgment. Your unwillingness to let this go and move on is Exhibit B. Exhibit A of course was your unwillingness to move on after you were warned to quit using your favorite Biblical term to refer to gay people, which resulted in the permaban of your previous account. Will history repeat itself? Only time will tell.
lagtight certainly dipping his toes over the Line In The Sand...... again. Same result to follow, imo.

What are you [strike]babbling[/strike] talking about?
Coordi said I was allowed to discuss the subject. I just can't use the n-word. (Even though it's okay for rappers to use the word so they can make bank with white kids buying their recordings, like Coordi I believe said he did as a kid.)

I did let this topic go, but other folks brought the topic up again and Coordi said I could discuss it.
You normally don't have comprehension issues, but I guess this is a rare exception where you do.
I'm fine never discussing the topic again.
But if other posters bring it up, it's obviously fair game.
I think it might be best if we called it the word that starts with the letter after m.
Calling it the n word is a little too close for comfort.

You aren't required to engage just because someone brings up a topic. And you aren't required to discuss a topic just because coordi says you can. Given your track record of not knowing when or exactly where to stop, I would avoid this topic entirely if I were you. But if you you want to tiptoe around in the deep end because you are confident you can keep your nose above the water line, that's of course up to you.

Not sure in what sense I'm on tiptoes here.
I have no intention of using or even quoting any of the Forbidden Words (TM Pending).
And if I get a permaban, I can do as expose about this forum on a podcast. š
(I don't have a podcast yet, but stay tuned!)
