The way the law works is you are losing virtually any time your dog is off leash and something happens. If it chases after something/someone, goes on private property, runs in front of a car or whatever and someone/the dog gets hurt, the judge is going to ask "was it leashed" and then very quickly will rule against you.
Ok I'm going to change my ways henceforth.
*shrug* I figured there was at best like a 5% chance I might convince you to care about the safety of your own dog and behave like an adult. Worth a quick post but it was a longshot for sure.

But yeah, the state is incredibly dog friendly when your off leash dog has perfect recall. The law heavily discourage under trained off leash dogs for a reason.

To be clear, the judge will give zero fucks if your off-leash dog has perfect recall. If your perfectly-trained off-leash dog walks up to a kid, the kid bops him on the head or does something stupid to provoke the dog, you're still going to be liable 100% of the time.
This. Dog owners have absolute liability for their animal.
I highly doubt Park County doesn't have leash laws

I got kicked out of the largest 14er hiking group on facebook because I suggested that open carrying on a mountain was unsafe. They love shooting stuff up there

Picked up a 4th dog for the walk this afternoon.
Note the complete lack of car tracks on the fresh snow you sanctimonious ass hats
I'm at 10,500 ft elevation it's all dirt roads and most of the houses are unoccupied. On my 5.3 mile walk today we came across zero cars and one tractor.
And pretty much everyone in this neighborhood who is living here currently walks their dogs off leash. I'd say the ratio of off leash walkers to leashed walkers is about 5:1.

Of all the many breeds of dog I’ve owned in my life, my pits/pit mixes were the best- every one of them adopted from shelters.
I do have a question for Coordi though: do you actually have to see the wildlife being chased or if you see a dog darting off into the woods can we just assume it's after something and shoot it?
