I dont know into detail how this works amongst the population in the US,but in scandi countries people that is in their 40s or 50s being employed with a steady personal economy usually drives a newer car. It doesent need to be brand new,but like 3-5 years old if used.

People that drives around in 25 year old cars is more often than not struggling in one or multiple areas in their life. If i see a 40 year old+ person who has their life together,and drives that old of a car is a clear exception.

This depends on where in the USA a Nomad is located. In the rust areas such as where it snows and salt used cars will rust in 10 years and usually be unusable. However in Nevada, Arizona, and California cars can last forever since they never rust and one can get a junkyard engine (which they used to import from Japan at 50,000 miles) and install used engines and transmissions from junkyards cheaply at a rent a lift place (they only have these in Los Angeles now since the ones in Nevada were all closed down).

I had a 91 BMW that was worth maybe 4 grand in the Blue Book at the time I blew up the motor. I paid 6 grand for a factory rebuilt motor that came with a warranty. Why? Because the rest of the car was in great shape that I bought new. A 6 grand used car you find at random is almost always a POS.

BMW would be the operative word here. A 6 grand Honda Civic probably has another 200k miles to go before major repair.

Mine was a 91, they were built differently back then than they are now. My car had gone 200k miles, the engine blowup was my fault.
