Could some of it be that you always have a perfect lie, or are hitting off the tee, on the range?
Maybe a little but I think it's more a mental thing.
I have begun the process of final editing on my novel. I am re-reading it myself for mistakes as well as incorporating the edits my wife and sister notated.
My sister had a couple of suggestions that my wife echoed, The early part of the book has a lot of characters tossed in that make it a little confusing figuring out who is who. But I wanted to get the back stories in early and a lot of those characters aren't mentioned much again. I'll continue to think about how to simplify it without removing what I consider somewhat important. I dunno.
Still trying to break 100 in golf. Shot 101 twice in a row so I'm close. My distance has improved considerably which is good. But I have to recalculate which club to use now. Still have some accuracy issues but they are getting better.

Went to the driving range today after yesterday's horrible round. Whatever swing i had that felt pretty good has completely disappeared. No clue why.
Golf is stupid. A disaster round followed by 2 practice sessions where I could barely make contact with the ball prompted me to schedule another lesson with my teacher.
If course i hit almost every ball really well.
I'm really getting the hang of swinging a club now. Who knows if it's the correct way, but I make consistent solid contact now. Getting it to go straight is another matter altogether.
I'm as good a putter as anyone I play with. It doesn't seem hard to me for some reason.
But the sand. Oh the sand. It's my achilles heel.
In other news, I'm about 3/4 of the way through proofreading my book for the last time. My sister and wife found a bunch of stuff and I'm finding stuff as well. No doubt that when I publish it there will still be errors, but I'm going with it anyway. I'm not spending any money on editors or proofreaders.
When I "finished" this book I felt like it just wasn't very good. I set it aside thinking I might not even go through the motions of proofreading it. Maybe just let it sit on a thumb drive, never to be read. But I'm really liking it upon re-read and feeling much better about it. It probably won't appeal to a lot of folks but I'm super happy about the way it came out.
Well, I've had 2 lessons from 2 different coaches and both said my swing has improved significantly. It certainly feels better. My cone of uncertainty is smaller but I still don't get to greens in regulation consistently. My pitching wedge gets a lot of use.
It seems that once I broke 100, I've been able to stay under 100 pretty consistently.
My neighbors were out of town for a couple of weeks and about the time they left their pool started leaking. I went over and kept it full so their pump would burn up.
The neighbors here all do things for each other so i thought nothing of it. I guess they did because they got me a gift certificate from the very overpriced pga store. I would never buy anything there but I had this gift card so I got this.
It has really helped. I went to the range yesterday and couldn't hit a damn thing. Came back and worked out the kinks with my net. It really helped. Went back to the range today and all was well.
The net setup is really helpful when I'm trying new things or tinkering with my swing. But you can't track the ball obviously so it's not a substitute for the range.

Construction in our neighborhood is crazy. Three streets over has 8 empty lots now. At the end of our little street a new house just started, one empty lot and one house about to be demolished. Across the street is a total gut/remodel in progress. This house is across the street as well. They will be tearing it down very soon. This will be a big pain in the ass with heavy equ

Hehe, I just can't. I can't imagine putting it up on our house and having the owners wonder wtf? We don't know them at all.
In home repair news......
We have a bunch of double hung windows and the spring mechanism on most of them is broken. I googled all kinds of stuff about a year ago to try to figure out what the part was and how to repair it. Not much luck at all.
I took a picture of it today and googled the picture and AI not only told me the exact part, but where to buy it and how to fix it. Crazy stuff this AI. I'm thinking hiring someone would have cost a fortune, not to mention I HATE hiring people to do stuff like that. I ordered the part(s) for one window (about $40) and I'll see if I can make it work. If so, I'll fix the rest of them.
