Suitedjustice's Ongoing Mid-life Crisis

I woke up in the middle of choking to death again; though to be accurate, it was towards the end of the process--woke up

The skin was really tough. Maybe due to it not being ripe when I bit into it? Do you eat them with the skin on?

It would be hard work with a peeler.

The video shows the best way, or just scoop it out.

fun fact, mangoes were on mega sale lately so i bought a bunch and thanks to this thread now open them perfectly

This is why I consider youtube to be one of the few, true, miracles of the internet.

My dad patiently tried to teach me basic small and medium-sized vehicle maintenance and repair, and I spent the time in every lesson mentally squirming, instead of learning. I'm lucky to have YouTube when I need to do something basic with my Jeep.

My older son, as a side hustle, buys older beat-up vehicles, does mechanical work to improve them, and then either sells them for a profit, or trades them to friends for other vehicles or various services. I asked him how he came to have such abilities, as he obviously didn't inherit them from his mechanically inept father, and he simply responded "YouTube."

Yup, I feel you bro : I wish I had paid attention also when my dad taught me a bunch of manual stuff (he comes from a family that all worked in construction) back in the day... It would certainly be helpful nowadays!!! Thankfully though, he is still around And I now pay attention 😉

That's good stuff, Dubnjoy000. My parents are in their late-80's so I'm here in western Mass spending the time I can with them. We do a family dinner once a week, which I think is a great idea, as it's otherwise easy to lose track of time and let weeks go by, if you don't have an agreed-upon schedule.

I tried it and had trouble with the pit, but I'd prolly get better at it with practice.

Boom. We're learning here. Learning and growing and sharing and drinking and drugging and gambling, in varying magnitudes.

It helps to have a natural talent; then you only have to watch the videos once or twice, as opposed to me searching for instructions to change my Jeep's radio clock twice a year for 3 years now.

After being sick for a week, I hit the slot floor for a few hours yesterday, but ended up breakevenish at +$15. Last night I played bar trivia with the Pokémon collector and his lady friend. We won. His trivia knowledge and mine form two largish and nearly separate circles in a Venn diagram, so we make a formidable team.

I had stopped my exercise routine for a week due to illness, but today I brought it back. This is the first time I've ever revived a routine after a week off, so I'm happy with myself. My jeans were getting tight in the waist; so that was an incentive. I could almost do the full 42 pushups; I made it to 41 1/2, so the atrophy has been kept to a minimum.

Tonight, I'm heading out for a slot run and a poker session.

Tomorrow there'll be snow, and next week I'm filling in at the office, and there will be more snow. That week at the office is not going to cover the rent, so I may have to drive to MGM through snow, as well as moonlight there after the office work, in order to make the nut.

The collector has offered to assess the rest of my Pokémon cards and make me an offer, but I don't expect much more than a hundo or so from that, unless a rare hologram card has evaded our previous weighing test.

Also, I mentioned that I'd sold him a hologram Bulbasaur, but I was wrong. It was a hologram Blastoise, for whatever that's worth.

I don't know jack about Pokémon, but I knew that kids loved it when it came out, so I bought a double handful of it cheap, hoping to make a score at some future date. I give turn-of-the-century Suited a pat on the back for that.

Not every collectible was a slam dunk back then. I also have Neopets and Bablyon 5 cards from the same era that are apparently pretty worthless.

That makes more sense. Blastoise is from the base set. Bulbasaur is as well, but that one is a common card (and never holographic).

I've still got a bunch of Pokémon cards; some are quite valuable. Maybe I'll sell a few of them sometime. I can't imagine selling my entire collection, though, because of nostalgic/sentimental value.

What about the Brunosaur?

What about the Brunosaur?

So rare that Americans can't even see him. I'll try it next time my VPN tells me I'm in the Netherlands or Romania.

I feel the slot grinding is going to be the more consistent hustle. I’d be really curious next time you make it to Vegas with your newly acquired slot grind. Vegas is either going to have a ton of opportunities or a ton of hustler competition. Can’t wait for a 2023 Fremont fun run. Also we talked about GWAE podcasts a while back. Check the newest podcast which has a slot hus

I like Bob Dancer. I used his video poker charts back around the turn of the century. I used to sneak glances of my own crib notes of them at the machines. I don't know which 2p2er the slot pro might be, but I wish him the best, as long as he stays out of Springfield.

If you want to Super sleuth at around 26:25 he calls the guest by his first name "Richard".

I guess you could Hendon Mob players from around 2008? I'm too lazy to care. And I listened to this when you first posted it and it's a lot of information without actually giving you any actionable information.

And if I was good enough to figure this out on my own. I certainly wouldn't share it on a popular public Podcast or forum either.

I don't know if Bluesky is getting closer to matching Peak Twitter or if the algorithm has merely figured out that that's what I want.

There is an apostrophe on that banner that doesn't belong.

It mentions a magic pokemon yugioh that belongs to Bjork Album.

Did they not let you look at notes in those days? I know people these days that have laminated strategy notes that they put on a machine to review and never had issues. You’re still not allowed to use electronic devices but I’ll look at online strategy charts.

I didn't know the protocol, so I played it safe when at the mob-adjacent downtown Las Vegas barrio casinos.

Yes, and Arneu as well. Have I told you about Arneu Album?
