What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

I think this forum could use a BBV thread, so here it is.

40-45-85. 1 birdie, 3 double bogeys. 70.3/133/6121.

The putting did not improve for the most part.

95(48/47) two quadruple bogeys sunk me. Chipping was beyond horrendous. I kept blading it over the green. Ugh.

40 (par 35). No birdies, no double bogeys.

A boring card with all 4s and 5s. Mostly solid ball striking, good chipping, meh putting.

got a sim session tomorrow morning, then walking a tournament round Saturday morning to finalize my bag choice for Ireland at the end of next month. That tourney round will be the first of 9 in 10 days, lots of golf, LGLG!

9 rounds in 10 days went well overall! Outcome goal was to average sub-90 and did that with 88-91-90-90-95-91-85-82-94, with six of the nine rounds being among my eight "counting rounds" for my index now.

Had a round with 3 birdies which was fun, and the 82 featured maybe the best stretch I've played. Par 70, I was +8 thru 8, and was still +9 on 17 tee. Made six pars in that eight hole run.

Looking like maybe 2 rounds between now and leaving for Ireland on July 25, LGLG!

96(46/50) My short game has been really bad. It's all I work on but it's not improving. Yuk.

Back nine was really weird. 10 yards past the green on 11, again on 12, then 20 on 13. Had 105 to the hole on 15 which is normally perfect for my pitching wedge. Hit it 140. I kept thinking there's no way, I must have picked up the wrong club or something. Flew the last 3 greens even when I clubbed down. No clue where i miraculously gained 25-30 yards with my irons all the sudden.

47-47 on a 70.3-134 from 6500 yards. Had a few lip outs for birdie which is annoying. Generally avoided penalties except for a couple blow ups on both 9's. Irons were a little off, and missed 6 greens short/right.

Working on a new swing feel during the round of keeping hands closer to my body through impact. Obviously in practice my hands are further away than I'm feeling like they are, but I think it's promising for club delivery from the inside and reducing my steep issues. Time will tell.

what is your short game plan/strategy, and what are the errors/misses?

Honestly, just get on the green right now. I'm all over the place. One time I'll chunk it completely over, the next I'll get nervous and not get it there. I believe it's gotten in my head now. I work on it a lot on the days I don't play. I'm decent on the practice area but it's not translating to the course.

bb - are you armsy with your short game or are you actually turning your body as you swing? i've found a feel that works for me is keeping my back elbow close to the body and turning my torso (yes, that works for just about everything)

you might also try the same one handed (forward hand) drill around the practice green as well. explore the technique it takes to make slow but solid contact with only one hand, and how you need the body to help as well.

get on the green is definitely a good plan! Do you use one swing and multiple clubs? One club with different swings?
